Starálfur's family is everything. Their parents love was a faerie tale, and as such, they have set up something hard to live up to. Star will not allow themselves anything less - and when one's parents literally fell in love at first sight, well, they're sure they'll never find anything just as beautiful. That being said, Star focuses on the wonderful family they were born into. Siblings are cherished, parents are adored, and family time is the most important thing in the world.
Etiquette lessons with father are steadfastly paid attention to. Games with mother are participated in with joy. The combination of the stern hand of Glosoli and the more mellow, beautifully accepting voice of Liebe does a lot to shape their personality. Star is steadfast in who they are, knowing they are accepted no matter what. That confidence shines through - and perhaps, a bit, to a fault. Never quite to the point of arrogance, though it can sometimes come across that way. If ever pointed out, they will have the grace to be sufficiently chided and attempt to adjust. This happens more when younger, and as they age, they will be able to temper that a bit better.
On the bright side, that means anything Star does, they do knowing they will achieve it. The sky's the limit! Only...they don't really know what they want to do with their life. As a foal they come to their parents with one more fantastical idea of what to do after another, and it's constantly changing. One week it's a Skinwalker hunter, the next an explorer and an adventurer! Nothing ever quite fits until one day they happen across a mare that's been badly abused. Bringing back feelings about how their grandmother was treated by their grandfather, and knowing how their mother was distrustful until she met their father really lights a fire under their butt.
Star finally finds what they want to do and basically becomes the Soq equivilant of a social worker. They become an advocate for abused mares, offering counseling and finding resources to give them a better life. Fight the patriarchy, burn it down, etc etc. It's a slippery slope from there, and they will feel a responsibility to abandoned foals/baskets. They begin to build their own hodge-podge family, safe in the assumption they will never find a love that holds a candle to their parents. Anyone - male or female - who wants to take this one's heart will have to work hard and have just as big a heart as Star.
