A tiara would attract more people with its reflective properties.

But a sash would be quite stylish depending on the way it's used.

I'm pretty sure that those pageants have strict rules about how you have to wear your sash, and that they hot-glue it to you so that you don't get any fancy ideas about trying anything new and modern. I mean, really, after the famed sash debacle of '87 do you really they are going to risk letting all those models decide on new and interesting ways to wear their sashes? I think not.

Your tiara has reflective properties? You need to enter better pageants. Only the lowest rounds on the pageant circuit give out crowns made with enough metal to have predominantly reflective properties. The better pageants give out crowns containing far more jewels and so the crowns have predominantly refractive properties.

Ahem, not that I'd know much about that. *Takes off his "Miss Insanity 2006 sash" and tucks his trunk of tiaras back under the bed.*

I prefer reflection over refraction.

I'd prefer being a cheap floozy instead of an expensive one.
