hmm, i would answer you, but i've only played 2,3,and 4 from the genesis series

Well, in the first one you'd have to travel through dungeons full of traps with no distinguishing features or map. It made for a good hour of cussing and backtracking.

this sounds troublesome, the most experience i have in PS before playstation is i played 30 seconds of 3 and 4, i wanted to beat 2 1st, i made it past the 1st mini-boss and got stuck :l
what do you make of this?

It sounds like you noticed the appeal of old games. They are god awful hard.

the good games are the older ones, much better story lines, but i know what you ean by them being hard, this generation (well most) is used to having cheat codes, it destroys the fun in the game in my opinion

most games now tell you where to go and what to do next, im stuck cuz i have no idea what to do next, i wanna figure it out but i might rely on youtube for help v.v

That is one of the faults in old games. If you stop and come back later you have a possibility of forgetting what you were doing and having to back track and rely on luck to get things rolling once again.

It was then I realized why there was a notes section in the back of manuals.

I played the first Phantasy Star, Phantasy Star Online 1 + 2, Phantasy Star Card Revolution, and Phantasy Star 0. Universe looked like a waste of time in my opinion.

I played 2,3,4, universe (so far a waste compared to PSO) and phantasy star portable (1)

How was Portable? It looked interesting, though I don't have a PSP to play it on.

Portable is a goddamned joke.

I hate Phantasy Star Universe, and all it is is their shitty online with the same characters in the PSU story that bored the s**t out of you.

As for the older games, shame on you all.
They were better than any of the new generation of Phantasy Star. Phantasy Star 1, 2, 3, 4, Online episode 1-2, and 4 were my joint...and hearing you all disrespect them makes me wonder what you call fun.
