As for that statue, no one carves a 500 foot statue of nobody.
No, they carve statues of dudes fighting their ultimo hero.
I'm saying his opponent had a name. An identity. A basis, at least. Or even a source of myth. But he isn't "some guy."

That's possible. Or he could be a statue created by Kishimoto to make the canyon place look more dramatic.

I think he might've said he was an enemy of Shodaime, but I don't know where and it doesn't matter because Shodaime is dead and the details of his life have no bearing on the story.

He is "some guy" to the current characters (and therefore us), because he's long dead and I doubt it really matters.

How would Sasori get a puppet of the Suna kage? He makes puppets. Just because someone dies during a war doesn't mean their bodies aren't around. Take Tsunade's brother. She saw his body after it had been taken off the battlefield.

Chiyo said Kakashi looked like Sakumo, the guy who killed her son. That's all there is to it.

Then who would he fight? He's Hokage, and if there's a threat to the village (or himself, before the village was created), he goes out to fight. When Konoha was first created, the Hokage was probably alot more active in who/what they had to fight, since there was probably alot of stuff going on. Maybe the guy had Sanin-esque strength or something.

To fight Shodaime (and probably defeat him) he had to be on top of the Sannin, so yeah you do have point.

Also, remember that the bodies of the Ninjas were burned or destroyed during war to avoid any kind of enemy jutsu development.
Since we don't know how powerful Shodaime was, we don't know how strong his enemy could have been.

Yes they were. What's your point?

that they werent ''around'' after being burned.

As powerfulas Yamato I guess? even more probably =/

No, but they are "around" before they're burned. Tsunade got to see her brother's corpse because they hadn't burned him yet. It's not like they light 'em up five seconds after they're dead.

Probably more than Yamato can range anywhere from Yamato, who was behind Asuma somewhere in Strongest in the Village Rankings, to stronger than Tsunade.

The Hokage are long dead, yet they seem to matter. I think that guy had a resemblance to Sasuke. To learn more about him may reflect some of his future. Kishimoto does s**t like that all the time and it always falls under our noses because people always think it's just "some guy."

So basically Yamato is stronger than a Sannin, but equal or weaker than
Asuma?...so then he isn't stronger than Hidan or Kakuzu D=, probably the weakest of Akatsuki...

...What? No. Yamato can't be the strongest active ninja in the village, because Kakashi is. You said the Shodaime was as powerful, if not moreso, than Yamato. So his range of skillz can extend from 'right behind Kakashi' to 'past Tsunade', because we don't know.

What do you have to go by besides hair? It's a carving in a giant rock, it's not like we can pick out facial features or anything.
Besides, at what point in the series does he try to dupe people by making us think "that guy's no important, he's nameless" and then have him explode with importance later? I could see that happening if you're really really dumb and thought Zetsu was some exotic plant or something.

Yamato isn't a Hokage, so I doubt he can be at Shodaime's level, all he has is his genes implanted.
Sorry, you talk too much sometimes and your words get mixed up and I dont get a crap out of what you said =D.
If Kishi didn't mentioned his name, he has to have a reason...is he the type of guy that leaves things clinged?

As powerful as Yamato I guess? even more probably =/

I think you mean "hanging". I suppose it's hard to understand me if english isn't your first language.

So let's see, how can I be more concise? We don't know how strong Shodaime was, so we don't know how strong is opponent was. He must have been strong, yes, but probably not enough that he would be important to the story.

Also, if he didn't mention his name, why does that mean he's automatically important and will be explained later? They don't tell you the names of every single one of Konohamaru's classmates, but that doesn't mean he's going to introduce them all as key elements to the story later.

I said probably, you dont seem to get what that means dont you.
dont we see him fight against Sandaime? yes, he was a zombie at the time,
probably his abilities werent as powerful.

That's because Konohamaru's classmates weren't fighting Shodaime or another important character...

Main Entry: prob·a·bly
Pronunciation: 'prä-b&-blE, 'prä(b)-blE
Function: adverb
: insofar as seems reasonably true, factual, or to be expected : without much doubt

Probably means he could still be just as powerful as Yamato. If you don't want to leave room open for doubt, then don't use probably.
