The 'mispellings' are puns based on names of things in Egyptian culture, I really don't see what the huff is about. confused

Just think about this- somebody had to take time out of their day, think of that, and believe it was clever. I can see it now-
"Hm. I need to butcher this post so badly people will wonder what drugs I'm on....I've got it!!! Igor, get me that Egyptian gods book!"
They deserve to have dead squirrels thrown at their heads.

SonarP Some of it I could actually understand. ^_^ I like it myself.....very, very cool. I wouldn' have thought of it myself. Quote me: "This is horrible. The Egyptians were a very advanced and cultured race, with a fully developed language and a structured society. I wouldn't take the piss out of that." If you think mercilessly butchering multiple languages and degrading advanced civilisations is cool, I don't think you belong here. We actually value communtication and culture. *End structured flame*

Londo Mollari Sephiroths_Blood12 Pyramid the items at the Faktori for an Egyptian surprise! Only Anubis too poor to afford these great new items... our prices are quite pharaoh. You'll never get a Ra deal at the Faktori! You'll never walk out saying "hey... Egypt me!" Once you Ramses new items into your home, you won't believe your Isis! These items are just too Luxorious to be real! Take good Cairo these artifacts, because they're priceless antiques! Oh man, that was painful. Just go to the Faktori and check out the goods. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I demand these sentences be taken outside and shot. Repeatedly. Oh, I don't know, I think they are actually rather clever. It took me two readings to get all the puns sorted out. These pun-filled sentences. Everyone's crying for punishment around here! rofl No pun intended; sorry about that. sweatdrop

I think some puns would have been okay...but to me, that's overusing them, now that I reread it.

Some puns are only good for how terrible they are, even. If you don't like them, that's one thing, but acting like they somehow ruin English is a bit silly. And since when is Egypt so sacred, it can't be joked about? Or any ancient civilization in particular? Do you seriously think we can't value a culture if we make a joke about it?

My attempt at deciphering the text. Quote: Pyramid Peer amid the items at the Faktori for an Egyptian surprise! Only Anubis a n00b is too poor to afford these great new items... our prices are quite pharaoh fair, though. You'll never get a Ra raw deal at the Faktori! You'll never walk out saying "hey... Egypt he gypped me!" Once you Ramses ram these new items into your home, you won't believe your Isis eyes! These items are just too Luxorious luxurious to be real! Take good Cairo care of these artifacts, because they're priceless antiques! Oh man, that was painful. Just go to the Faktori and check out the goods. What do you think? Edit : changed " rat deal" to " raw deal". Thanks chiyojo! Edit : changed " far out" to " fair, though". Thanks MyOwnBestCritic

DarkElf27 The 'mispellings' are puns based on names of things in Egyptian culture, I really don't see what the huff is about. confused Agreed. I found them quite funny in an immature way. I love Ancient Egypt. I wanted to be an Egyptologist for well over a decade while I was growing up. That doesn't mean I have to treat it like some oh-so-sacred subject that can't be joked about. Honestly, guys, it's just humour. Bad humour, maybe, but it's still just humour. Lighten up wink

chiyojo I believe it's "raw deal." ^^ I thought of that, but it's not an expression I'm familiar with. Does it mean a bad deal? While I also never heard the expression "rat deal", to me it expresses the conotation that was implied.

Yeah, "raw deal" is an expression that means you got stuck with a bad deal. You might hear it some time. ^^
