Raine had a sense that there was someone else above the norm around other than this strange boy. She turned around and locked eyes with a woman who had yellow eyes. Yes...Raine wasn't the only one. First this boy and now this woman. She slowly released her hummingbird. It would have to wait.

As the gaze of the female below traveled to meet his, his face turned away, though he kept his other senses tuned to her. He knew she knew what he was, though he knew the same about her and thus he didn't feel threatened. He hand rose to unnecessarily grasp a nearby tree branch before he looked back to her, finding that she, too, hand looked away. The branch he held seemed to be healthier than the others: greener and richer in color. His distraction had let his talent perform its act and once he had come to this realization, he quickly replaced his hand on his lap in a blur. He wanted to focus on the young vampire below.

Raine considered looking to see where the hummingbird had gone. Anything to get her mind off of the others. She had never been in the presence of so many at once. She could feel their senses. Cautiously, she rose her eyes once again to the boy in the tree. "Hello,"she called. She didn't bother saying it loud. He was a vampire, she knew his senses would be strong enough to pick up her voice.

He seemed slightly taken aback by the fact that she acknowledged him. A warm smirk-like smile appeared on his face and he nodded his welcome to her. Not a moment later, he jumped from the tree and landed easily before her. He was close enough to have to look down at her face, though he kept a distance between them as to not cause an uncomfortable air. His expression seemed to show that he was diliberating whether to tell her his name or not.

She let her smile show across her face. The fact that he'd been willing to approach her was more than she could say about others she'd met in the past. She silently closed the distance between them. Raine always had an easy time approaching new people. "My name's Raine,"she said in a small silky voice. "What's yours?"

As she approached, his right eyebrow rose slightly, then relaxed when she spoke. His own voice was rich, a heavy Romanian accent coating it like, though he seemed cautious, as if he were about ot give too much away, "Emilian. It's a pleasure to meet you." His eyes focused tightly on hers. He wondered to himself why his own eyes were nothing like those he now concentrated on.

She recognized that thick accent. Romania, where most are created, she thought to herself. She wasn't surprised. More curious than anything. She had spent the majority of her sleepless nights thinking of that place. She wondered if that's where she came from, though she had strong doubts. "It's nice to meet you too," she sounded sincere, but her thoughts were clearly elsewhere. Her mind was now on her creator. She now remembered why she had come here.

"Hmm," he voiced thoughtfully, glancing over her shoulder at the human onlookers and letting a small chuckle escape his lips. He seemed cheerful, as if the fact that the humans were so desperately curious amused him beyond common understanding.

The sound of his laughter pulled her out of her thoughts. "What's so funny?" she asked him. But as she followed his eyes she realized what it was. "So easily amused," she murmered under her breath. Another reaction to add to study she mused.

"Well....," she struggled to find the words to tell her story, something she rarely ever did. "I've been wandering the world to find this place. I woke up in France...well a long time ago, as you can imagine. I don't know what happened. I can't remember. All that was left was a picture of a house. I managed to find out that it was located here. Well simply put, I'm trying to find who made me..." her voice trailed off. Then abruptly she seemed to come back to reality. "What's your story?"

No need to keep hitting quote!

Karissa sat in the cafeteria indoors, waiting to be put into a homeroom. She was so bored by the humans' reactions - they acted as if they'd never expected to see each other again, though summer vacation was only two months long.

She cried a lonesome cry, alearting of her persense. She moved from the rocks down to the school, still as form as a wolf.

Yawning a half hour later, Karissa left the school building. As she crossed the front lawn, she amused herself by picking out those like her who were not human. "Forks must have the largest population of vampires I've ever seen," she mused aloud to herself. Her gaze darkened a moment as the thought followed, except for London, of course.

Laurence smiles hearing her words from across the parking lot. He slowly got into his porche and sped off in the direction of the woods.
