3nodding Yes, those are good books! I think he does a nice job of handling more than one genre. His Alvin Maker books are more fantasy, and I've read a couple that you might describe as close to horror...

::smiles:: I should read more. I really liked Secret of Nimh by Robert C. O'Brien, but is that considered Science Fiction?

Good question. I think that's an example of a book that is Fantasy fused with Sci-fi. 3nodding

I highly recommend the Rama series, with the first
novel having been written by Arthur C. Clarke and
later installments including the additional, creative
musings of Gentry Lee.

This literary duo established an entire universe of
possibilities. Might you join them, someday?

Hm... nah. Still think it's Aurther. Or maybe Ford. I like Ford. Besides. I don't remeber anyone with the name Beeblebrox being in that book.

I have to say that Doctor who is my favorite tv series, my favorite movie is Stargate (the original one), and my favorite book series would probably be Lord of the Rings. Mind you a realy goood book is 13 crimes of science fiction! It is truly the bestest ever! ..... but then there is also hitch hiker's guide which I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And of course the robot series and I Robot ( the book, NOT the movie. The movie was good but not accurate). I also love Chronicles of Narnia.......... Sorry I love a lot of Scifi/Fantasy books!

Doctor Who is my all time favorite by far. I realy want to find the books.

i would say my own but its not sci-fi.
anyway best sci-fi has to be Star wars but only after the films. the ones before i hate because no Han solo and Millennium falcon. there just so many of them as well.

not sci fi but i love a series of books called 'the tale of the malazan book of the fallen' there amazing. a bit hard to follow though at the start.

Hmm, I would have to say Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
Mainly for the sheer comedy of it.
