So, which book of his is your favorite?

One of the cool things about him is that some of his works have also been made into movies. There's an old one, The Andromeda Strain, which is pretty good for its age.

Oh, I love all of Crichton's works!

Jurassic Park
Timeline
A Case of Need
Disclosure
Prey
Sphere
Andromeda Strain

The most recent - about global warming - State of Fear.

He's the one who usually makes his movies. ^^ I read that in his Travels.

I'm going to be blatantly biased here...

Greg Bear.

Why? Because I met him before I even knew who he was, and he's an awesome person as well as author. His daughter is one of my closer friends and has introduced me to many other awesome authors to boot. Most of which are comic authors, though, as comics seem to run rampant through that house.

If you count comics, I'd have to cite Studio Foglio ( a husband / wife team ), too.

Asimov was King. But, McCaffrey may just be queen.

Dean Koontz. Mostly these- Lightning (198 cool and Watchers (1987). They were written before I was born x3 Ha.

Koontz, King and Saul are more horror and fiction than science fiction tho they are good authors

there are to many choices out there for me to even begin to name one
naming 20 wouldn't even help

H.G Wells
Ray Bradbury
Poul Anderson
Arther C. Clark
Ben Bova
and that is just a hand full

Ray Bradbury and Arthur Clarke.
I read a short story called 'There will come Soft Rains.' and no one in my class liked it but me.
I also happen to own every single one of the Space Odessey books.
I also like the more Sci-fi ish books that Stephen King and Dean Koontz wrote.

not much into sci-fi >.0 but I liked the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld...if that could be classified as sci-fi

If your only counting Sci-fi, I'd say David Weber's Honor Harrington series. I love military sci-fi's and I just fell in love with her character after reading the first book.

now it's not sci fi, per se, but totally worth it if your into Egypt, conspiracies, and space travel. Its a book called Resurrection by Arwen Elys Dayton basically futuristic space travelers go to earth and get stuck there and end up posing as egyptian Gods. Really good. I was surprised.

Jane Lindskold's Firekeeper Saga is my favorite fantasy, if you like wolves and medieval societies. :3
