I used to be in situations such as those myself.
Good is an adjective, while well is an adverb. There is a difference between the two.

To Err is human.
But it does annoy me. I know I used to make mistakes all the time, but since I really started being my grammar self, it has gotten better. I do fairly well with grammar now, and in fact wish to be an editor that works for a publishing company.

My father, oh my spandex, I swear he must have never even HEARD the word "well" used as an adverb. I do not recall him using "well" as an adverb instead of incorrectly using "good" anytime in my life. [sighs]

I am annoyed by that so much! A few days ago, this guy in my class during recess, said to me, "I don't see too good." I don't feel like explaining what I said to him before I said that, so bear with me. I corrected him, and told him it was one of my pet peeves when people did that. He responded with, "I don't see too good. I don't see too good." etc. It annoyed me to no end.

One of my past English teachers once asked me whether I was doing "good" in high school. I never did forget that... XD
Anyway, yes, the improper use of the word "good" annoys me. I hate it when people say they "did good" with something. One of my classmates once said, and I quote, "I'm do good on this grammar test."
