goth,,just a fad for you?

Being only seventeen, and having really embraced my gothyness for only three to four years now, the future is an enigma.

On one hand, it's lasted for much longer than most teenage fads, and unlike a lot of people who suddenly start wearing black and listening to The Cure, it was a more gradual transition for me, so I've adjusted better to it and have sort of come into my own under its influences. Also, my interest in the culture has not dwindled a bit since stumbling upon it.

However, I'm just seventeen, and I havn't a clue about what the future holds. Who is to say how I will be ten years from now?

I think my interest in morbidity (yes I can make up words) will never fade but I don't think I'll dress this way when I'm like 40.

Well, I lived a wierd life, and kinds skipped my childhood, and turned goth at age 9... That means I am coming up on my 7 year Goth aniverssary... ((sp?))

Huh... good question. I don't think it's a fad for me, but I guess I could always grow out of it. I don't see that happening, however.

I've been fighting being Goth since I was 14... but I finally gave in at 17 and now I'm 18. thxthatwazmylifestorylol

I don't really think true goth is something you can necessarily let go just like that...

I think as we grow older, like in our thirties or so, people might grow out, you never know. For me, I have more of a personality thing, I don't dress up much for people to see me as goth, but my personality shows it, and really I plan on it that way. I dress up with fishnet and what not, but other then that, I wear regular cloths like other people, just plan jeans and a shirt, but really the things I like and enjoy will stay with me.

I wouldn't label my self goth but i have a more goth edge. a black crinalin or a corset. i work very goth peices into a normal outfit and i think im always going to do that.

I'll be 22 in a few weeks. If it hasn't 'worn off' yet I doubt it will any time soon.

I don't dress in a "gothic" manner at all.

Since most of my interest in "goth" things lies in music and art/literature, I strongly doubt that my interest will fade.

I will most likely switch from lolita back to goth...Cause a lolita dressed woman picking her child up from school would be just plain strange...They would think I was some kinda sick pervert.

i 'm goth even though stometimes my avi doesnt look it...and i want 2 b 4 ever, and i wish i had started sooner( i started in 5th grade )...i love everything about goth, the still of colothing, music, and just other things...

i drift in and out of the gothic style of clothing, but i love everything gothic so i donno.
