As for the beam sabre working in an anti-beam field, I feel they would. In the cosmic era the beam sabres are mirage colloid particles that are superheated and contained in an electromagnetic field, which is broken upon contact with another material, similar to the concept with the beam saber tech from the UC.
If an anti-beam depth charge just spreads out large amounts of supposedly mirrage colloid particles to inhibit beams from rifles and cannons, then I think a beam saber would keep the two particles fields separated. I'm not sure though as I remember the archangel only used the field twice and none of the units in them used beam sabers at that time.

Okay. I'll wait to see how you handle hitting mooks/mass production units as well. Still not fully sure how strong the Gundam should be/how many enemies to take out in a turn if any.
