how do you get a sick/neglected dragon, anyway?

Sick dragons seem to be produced by completely ignoring an egg/hatchling until it has .5 days or less to live then bombarding it with clicks and views. I have seen them in the dragcave guild where someone just clicks on a hatchling that has little time left and it turns neglected.

maybe i'll try to get one some time, but that would be hard... I don't want it to die so I'd have to time it so 6.5 days after I got the egg I'd be able to tend it....

I *think* the dragons all just got a small extension. I was going through checking on the eggs in my thread, and ones that were just under 3 days are now over. If I hadn't gone back to organize I wouldn't have even noticed.
