We are meant to be that Gray in the world, shadows who move in and out of it as needed to help keep the balance." he says to her. This left Whitney raising an eyebrow. "Just don't go overboard; such a thing could get to people's heads, you know."

"You all have only been doing this a year...did the rangers really do that much to you all to make you jaded?" she asked.

"I can only imagine what in the world you all been through in all that time. Are you all okay? I mean, I see you here, for instance, you don't look hurt, but..." she rubbed the back of her head for a second.

And what few scrapes and bruises we might have gotten, we have a darn good doctor with us who keeps us upright and going. And if any of us were hurt badly, he wouldn't let us leave his care so easily until he was sure we were better. " Ryan says to reassure and ease her mind.

Fortunately he's not. That said, there are only a handful of them out there; it sounds bad when its put like this, but in these parts, doctors for hybrids are...not really in demand. Hybrids are a bit of a rarity in these regions." she said. "Either that or the vast majority are in hiding, which wouldn't surprise me considering the populous everywhere."
