"Come on... wait. Let's try this! Poliwhirl, Body Slam! Bounce over the rocks and get over there!" Aden called.

An odd plan, somewhat crazy... but maybe enough so to work. Poliwhirl jumped the little bit he could, unable to get over the rocks. He'd slam against the ground with a good deal of force, cracking the ice before he bounced up, managing to just get over the rocks.

"Good, good, keep going!"

With a cry, Poliwhirl landed and slid across the ice, speeding at Snorlax before bouncing again and threatening to flop against the opponent with all his might.

With a cry, Poliwhirl landed and slid across the ice, speeding at Snorlax before bouncing again and threatening to flop against the opponent with all his might.

The Snorlax continued to struggle until the ice broke and he managed to get his foot out, only to get rammed into by the Poliwhirl from the attack, throwing the Snorlax off balance a little, but there was just enough momentum there where the tip turned into a slip on the ice and it fell backwards upon the ice ridden floor, with a loud slam and a shake of the floor to follow, which made me have to hold on my seat some to make sure I didn't fall over from that one.

"OHHHH! Snorlax!"

"Snooorrr-LAAAAX!"

"Snorlax! Hurry back up! Use Earthquake!" And then one more move straight from the "Normal Type's book of borrowing attacks from others", Snorlax managed to stand back up then gave one ginormous stomp, shattering the ice with the massive quake and, with any luck, rock Poliwhirl to its core.

Aden found himself falling to his knees from the impact Snorlax made, making a note to be more careful when something that heavy was in the same room. He watched as Poliwhirl tumbled over and onto the floor, careful as he got back up.

But what was coming didn't bode well at all. There was no way Aden could make a call fast enough, or recall Poliwhirl for that matter. To him, it was a moment where he had to just hope for the best, bracing himself for the massive tremor that rocked the gym.

Poliwhirl, knowing he wasn't getting out of this one, took a different stance. If he was going down, then darn it, something was going with him. To those means, he went to sock Snorlax before the foot came down, sealing his own fate regardless of outcome.

Ryan shakes his head. "This looks really bad. Poliwhirl is done for. His Raticate is in bad shape. Whitney still has that Behemoth on the field, a untouched Girafarig and most likely her Miltank waiting in the wings. if he pulls this off, I will be impressed." he says to Blizz.

The desperation attack managed to get the better of Snorlax, sending it toppling over. Apparently this fight has came out to a stalemate. "One down..." I said to Ryan.

"Oh no...its okay Snorlax you did fine." she recalled the massive behemoth then took out another Pokeball. "Huh, not bad, you finally took out my Snorlax." Whitney said to Aden.

The small victory was not without its casualties, with Poliwhirl falling soon after Snorlax had. Even then, the war was far from over. "It's alright, Poliwhirl, you did good. Return." Aden said before recalling the fallen Pokemon. "We're not through this yet, no matter how rough that Snorlax was."

Already, he got another ball ready. He knew he'd be locked in his three, but he couldn't bear to use Raticate again so soon.

"Girafarig!" she shouted, tossing the Pokeball back out onto the field.

The ball bursts open, revealing the Pokemon for battle. With a squeal and a prance around to follow, it was clear that despite taking only a minor hit earlier, this Pokemon was ready to get back to it.

"Not this one again..." Aden said, a little disdainful. Last time he saw that thing, it led to a nightmare. Much as he wanted to use Nidorino or Flaaffy, he had a feeling he'd have to take a massive chance. "Come on, Scyther!"

Throwing the ball he had in hand, he let his Scyther out. To him, he was the best chance he had of turning the tides. Even if it meant another nightmare was bound to come.

The nightmares can only continue with this Girafarig. If the Baton Pass ploy wasn't bad enough, this would put it over the top. "I take it that's what you grabbed out of the Bug Catching contest, recently, huh? Not bad. See how you can work with this! Girafarig! Power Swap!"

I couldn't help but to facepalm when the Girafarig gave a squeal and unleashed a weird profound burst of celestial chi.

"What?"

Aden had no idea what was going on when Girafarig made its move, sending th burst. While it didn't harm Scyther in the least, it did seem to drain him. He felt a few shades weaker physically to boot.

It didn't take long for either of them to notice the change, but not the severity of the situation. "Okay, okay... we can work with this. Scyther? Fury Cutter!"

That was a call Scyther didn't mind answering, racing behind Girafarig with blinding speed and attempting to strike just as fast with both scythes.

Unfortunately for the Girafarig, whatever speed boost it had prior was long since gone. Its advantage was that with its attack hindered greatly, that Fury Cutter, despite being naturally strong against the likes of Girafarig, was moot. For now.

"Girafarig! Use Take Down!" she shouted.

The Girafarig shrugged off the attack then went into a full charged tackle towards the bug.

Unlike the relatively painless Fury Cutter from Scyther, the Take Down he'd receive did hurt. Quite a bit, actually.

"How...?"

"(You cheap little-)"

"Scyther!"

"(Hmph.)"

"Okay, so it can hit as hard as you. As hard as you used to. Whatever, it hurts. Just follow my lead, alright?"

"(Okay...?)"

"Good. Now, Double Team!"

Instead of going on the assault again so soon, Scyther focused on his speed. He ran about all over the gym, even against the wall a time or two. After images were left in his wake, making the lone Pokemon look like an army of them poised to strike.

The Girafarig took a step back, trying to see the images before it.

"Oh dear." She nearly forgot that Aden played with ploys like this. A lot. And this one didn't exactly help her cause. "Girafarig! Zen Headbutt!" Whitney shouted.

The problem, it didn't know which one to go after. It then rushed. All it could do was take a guess.

Luck would prove to be on Girafarig's side as the Zen Headbutt struck... or not. One of the copies, though, vanished at once. At least, it only bought Aden a little bit of time.

"Glad that one didn't hit... alright, let's keep it up. Agility!"

No change to the remaining copies, nor did any of them move, but Scyther loosening himself up was bound to give himself away. The caveat of avoiding Double Team's more common tactic, apparently.

The speed increased, the images were still around; Whitney was starting to wonder if Aden was trying to stall, but it meant nothing if Aden couldn't get a decent hit off with that bug of his with its hindered physical prowess. "Girafarig! Try a Double Hit!" she shouted.

The Girafarig then went for a couple of more images to try her luck against.
