I hatehatehatehatehate people who want to censor the Internet "For The Children" (tm).
I am proof that the Internet does not make you a violent, sexually perverted antisocial dredge of society. As for the Internet making kids masturbate or look at porn: pick up, "Our Bodies, Our Selves".
However, if these idiots keep insisting on censoring the Internet from we wee tots, I would rather the Internet just be entirely unavailable to minors. I'd rather not have the Internet than make it suck for everyone over the age of eighteen. Better to make it like booze, illegal until you're 21, than mess it up just so eight year olds can play flashgames on Disney's website while Mommy (or Daddy) does laundry.

I agree. The internet should not be censored. It's probably the only place where peopel from every country can say what ever the hell they feel like, and not get in trouble for it. Parents are supposed to watch what their kids do on the internet.
These are the types of people who shouldn't have had kids. If they're not going to watch them and keep them safe, by monitoring their internet usage, they shouldn't have bought a ******** computer. They need to teach their kids about not giving out personal information, blocking pornographic, violent and republican sites, teaching their kids about physical computer safety (ie. using the right chair, taking a break after 15 minutes etc) and tell them what happens if things go wrong.
My mother drilled this stuff into my head when we got the internet. I also learned a lot from my IT classes at school. I thought most of it was common knowledge. Apparently not.
