Tobi attempts to revive 10 tails by having the Gedo Statue absorb one of 8 tails' arms and the Gold and Silver generals inside the gourd who have Kurama's essence within them. Kurama seems to think that it is still possible, however, to defeat Tobi and the Gedo statue before the 10 tails is revived.

Kakashi figures out Tobi's jutsu and Kurama tells Tobi that there is no way that Naruto is going to give up on his dream.

Kakashi is still moping over the fact that he killed Rin, but on the positive side, he was able to reveal to Lord third that there is a second wood style user, thus revealing that Orochimaru is conducting illegal experiments.

A secret village hidden within a tree houses a civilization where people can turn into smoke. Tenzo used to be a part of that village until he was sent to live with Orochimaru and was tested. Tenzo successfully can use the wood style thanks to this training. But now the village of smoke people is being infiltrated by what looks to be Kakashi.
