I went shopping today for a car, and guess what?

I'll probably be getting a Ford Focus, practically brand new, with either 6000 or 16000 miles on it. I tried the Toyota Corola and hated it. I also tried the Ford Taurus and found it interesting, but not to my liking. I might try to test drive a Honda Civic and see if it's okay......but a Focus sounds like a good car to me....

Oh, and I start my job on Thursday. I'm replacing a friend of mine there who apparently is the best sacker they've ever had......T.T

I'll be making 5.15 an hour, since the place is so dinky, but still, at least I'm making SOME money......which is more than I was before....

No!
Not the ford focus!!

Agreed. Something hits you, like a popcan, and your dented hugely. :/

Yeah...not had too much good experiences with Fords. My sister's Honda is the same though. Every time it's bumped, even with pushing the door closed, it gets a dent in it.
I still dunno why you don't like the Toyota. My little car is great and runs a lot better than any other car I've driven.

Not to mention the horrible life span.
Seriously ford builds their crap to last until the warrenty expires. So yes, while itll run great when you first get it, give it a year or two possibly less if you getting it used, then you will know the true meaning of disgrace. You'll see fog

So what do you suggest I get? The crappy toyota that drives like it's tires are coated in gravel? Ugh.

Maybe I'll just not buy a car at all and learn how to teleport from here to there. =_=

Okay, Ford is out. Toyota is out. Nissan is DEFINITELY out. Honda is out. Chevy is out. Jesus, what the ******** is left?!

Pontiac? I also hear that the Jetta is a good car...my friend swears by them, and both cars she's owned have been Jettas, and she's shopping for a new car and she's hoping for another Jetta...The only reason she had to replace the first two is because her brother totalled Jetta number 1 by rolling it somehow, and this one's just reached it's old age limit (and needs a messload of crap that just isn't worth it to replace....like the E-brake).... blaugh

We have a Monte Carlo, from Chevy. that thing just dosen't dent.

In other news: this new gecko is super friendly, he crawled right onto my hand, and erlier when I fed him he was like "nooo noo! I wont eat! Nooo!!!...okay,ifyouinsist." and...my ferrets the sweetest guy ever. He's laying between my ankles, sleeping while i watch TV. I couldn't be happier. smile

Also, i am finding I have growing confidence from him, and slowly, my paranoia is going away, as in, i'm not thinking about it, thinks that were like 'these shelves could and might/will fall over on me!" dont happen anymore. I take him everywhere, the grocery store, hospital, ect. all in all i'm really happy. smile

In medical news, i go to a Gastointestinal specialist on monday. sad wish me luck everybody..

Good luck NG. I hope all goes well.

btw, I met up with my friend after a lot of problems. He walked down my street, and I saw him so I called out to him... except her didn't hear me, so I had to jump my fence with my laptop under my arm (That's not something I want to do again) and run up the hill to catch him. On the positive side, I have everything from him, and I payed him. Also I found out the wireless network works from the bus stop! rofl

Anyway, got everything, and my other friend is happy.

Well, out of the blue, a little something that made my day.

I don't know if there are many Canadian furs here in the guild, or others outside Canada who might get the YTV channel and watch it, or even maybe just some avid child book readers who might recognize the title, but I was watching some early TV for once because I was bored and lacking inspiration for drawing, and I cought a cute little 3D animation show called "Jane and the Dragon".

I dunno. It is a kid's show, but I still loved it even though I'm considered too old for these sort of things by a lot of people I know. Just thought I'd share my little discovery.

You can actually watch a full episode from the site, even though it's not the best quality. Oh and for the animation fans, the "Making Of" extras are pretty cool too. =D

...not exactly the common AFG Sallies post type, but meh, I didn't feel like cluttering the guild with another thread for a single post. X3
Gonna go listen to the themesong again, it's cute. =D

I'm from Canada, but I don't live there anymore. I do know one of the furs here does live in Calgary, but I dunno if I should say who. Anyway, you are definantly not alone when it comes to adults liking cartoons...you should've seen the party we just had in the Artist Junkyard Chatter and Picture Post. razz

Did I ever tell you that I was driving a Civic once when I broadsided a Focus at 25mph?

The Focus was totalled (although the guy was unharmed, he got out the opposite-side door), and the Civic... needed a new radiator. That's basically all.

The main advantage of the Focus is that it's cheaper. But please, be careful.

I've been driving a Jeep Liberty, which is a great car, very nice ride, but terrible on gas.

If the car dents, oh well. I don't really care, seeing as how I only want a car that'll get me from point a to point be without breaking down. I want something dependable and good on gas mileage, perhaps 30 miles to the gallon. Who knows, I may end up getting the Toyota Corolla, seeing as there was very little difference between it and the Focus......

Also, my price range restricts me from the nicer used cars. I can only spend 15000 on it, perhaps a thousand more but that's it. This puts most cars out of my reach.
