His name means bright, since his coat is as dark as the depths of the ocean, the bright refers to his mind. He is an intellectual foal who is able to relate and understand those he comes in to contact with. Killian a quiet colt who has an eye for detail and a deep understanding of what drives others to do what they do; he is able to completely understand his peers reasons behind their actions and because of that understanding and empathy, he comes to love them, for it is impossible to really understand someone, what they want, what they believe and not love them the way that they love themselves.
He is a warrior at heart, he has courage and resilience and a strong urge to do what is right. As he trained in the art of battle, he learned that his ability to relate to others became a beneficial skill, but also a skill that would fill him with guilt. He discovered that he was able to understand his enemies, and love them, but in that moment of love, he completely destroys them so that they could never harm him again. Strategy comes easily to Killian; he can look at a situation and observe the multiple outcomes of that one choice.
Killian is not a monster, even though his appearance may cause others to believe he is a beast. He does not judge others how they look, but how they act, for who would he be if he did that to others? He does not wish to be a hypocrite, so he does not blame them for their harsh judgment and works hard to become their friend to show them that their perception is inaccurate. Those who pretend to be something they are not are a curious group to the foal, he spends hours watching them interact with others, always acting out a role that is not truly themselves.
