He drove slowly through Soleil, looking around to see what had changed. Nikolai had loved coming here as a child and had always adored the little beach town. It had seemed like such a magical place - which, he knew, it was. He hadn't been here in well over ten years, and although much of the city was the same, he couldn't help but feel like everything had changed. Perhaps it wasn't the city who had changed too much for him, but he who had changed too much for the city. It didn't feel like home anymore, although it had once been his favorite place to stay. He felt like a stranger here.
It might not have been solely the desire to see the city that led Kol to drive so slowly, though. He had been avoiding any association to his family and his past for so long, and now that he had come back to deal with it, he was no longer sure he was ready.

Quote {The} Theme Song-Fighter Thoughts
Kuro was headed to work, looking through her ipod’s playlist to see what songs she could mix and play. One wouldn’t think she would be a dj, but she loved music and there were no rules on how a dj should look. She didn’t know much about this town at all. From where she was looking, she had figured where she was living was in the middle-class area. Though the areas were all nice, anything was better than home. Her father had tried to get a hold of her a couple of times, in which she ignored the messages and even blocked his number. She refused to go back, she wanted to make her own decisions now. While lost in thought, she did not notice the presence creeping up on her. She did however feel when her purse was attempted to be yanked from her shoulder, something being pressed against her back and then a menacing voice, or at least an attempt at one from her point of view.
"Don’t move or I’ll shoot…Give me your purse and you won’t get hurt. Is this man being serious? I could take him out in one movement and shot…Easily saying it was self-defense. These people really need to stop basing things off of how someone looks. Kuro sighed, seemingly annoyed. She knew the man had no gun, for she knew the feel of a gun and this definitely did not feel like one. He most likely was using his finger or something similar. Really, an idiot. Kuro did not want to deal with this at all. This man however, could use a good lecture, and lesson.
OOC: Hope it's okay

Nikolai smiled as he passed Neon Lights, fond memories of the place passing softly through his mind. He rolled down the window then, allowing the chilly, salty air inside. Although he'd wanted to smell that familiar beachy scent, he hadn't expected it to be quite so cold. Shivering, he began to roll the windows back up. About halfway there, he glanced to the left and saw a man and a woman a little ways from the road. Kol thought nothing of it at first, until he realized the man was pulling on the girl's purse. "s**t," Kol exclaimed, braking suddenly and putting the car quickly into park before opening the door to climb out.
"Hey!" he shouted, cursing his knee as he hobbled as quickly as he could in their direction. Although he couldn't run to help, he could pull out his gun. "I'm not afraid to shoot, little b***h." He used his most dangerous voice, adding some Russian accent to sound more intimidating; it shouldn't really matter what kind of accent a person had, but he'd dealt with less savory folks for a long time, and giving off a certain persona could change everything about how you were treated. Of course, Nikolai hadn't thought about how the girl might see him, talking like a criminal, holding a gun, threatening the mugger with words that could easily be misconstrued to be directed at her...
