A calm howl came through the forest, two other voices behind it. It was a trio of voices, a soft call that pulled every heart into it and called every other into song. That was the main voice, the singer of the voice and the leader of the song. The following voices, one playful and hyper, hitting the higher notes of the song and filling it with more spirit and energy. The last voice, the lowest of the song, had so much hate and power within it that it filled the song completely, even the lower third of the song. These were the newest wolves to this area, the newest members of the pack. A pack they haven't even met yet, and hoped that they could remain in the area longer than any other area they had been in.
Crossing the threshold of the territory, these three wolves entered the forest. A forest so unlike any that they have seen yet. So full of life, so wild and free. Even the animals here were chattering in a way that they have never seen or heard of. It was full of spirit and hope. These three moved through this area so slow that they seemed to be frozen. Even if they stood out against the background, they were frozen in the scenery, part of it forever.
These three, who were they? Where did they came from? Why were they here? These three were the last of their pack, the last of their family, and the last of their land. They came from a distant land, miles away. They have been traveling for most of their life now, having seen so many packs that they can't even count them any more. It was always the same, got into a fight and then forced to leave because of what they were.
Silver fur was to the center of this trio, standing out against the green background. Blue eyes darted around the area, scanning everything that was around them. This was the main singer of the howl, a brave wolf yet kind and caring underneath the thick fur and hard toned body. A female just by how she looked and how she held her head up. In front of her was a male that looked more brute than brawn. He was the thickest and heaviest built, but because of training and not because of his birth status. A few scars littered his body, showing that he was the fighter of this trio, that he was the leader as well. A black body was almost hidden underneath the shadows, but because of the one next to him, he stood out against her fur lining. The last wolf of this trio, a slightly smaller male with a mixture of both colors, holding a gray pelt, was the one who had the spirited voice. Even now this one had a bounce to his step, as his head looked around and his ears were pointed forward, one could tell that he was slightly hyper. This was the playful one of the group.
These three were alone, no one else there to help them through their troubles, no one to ask for help, no one but each other. Even now you could see their bond, each one watching the other, though each slightly behind another, staying side by side of course. These three were not only friends, not only part of the same remaining pack, and not only a supporter and a protector of the other, they are siblings. From the same mother and father, these three had stayed with each other for their entire lives, never once leaving each other. They knew how the other was without even asking. That is how close they were. They had to be.
The female, picking up her head a bit more, halted the group, having heard something. At this, the three stood slightly closer, the males still to the outside looking to their own side and the female still looking ahead. It was she who had heard it, and it was she who was pointing towards where the sound had came from. The bushes rustled and something brown jumped out of the bushes. They all crunched down and watched it. Once it stopped, they realized what it was and how stupid they were for thinking it was another enemy. It was a female deer, a lone and young female deer. Without thinking, the wolves jumped and tackled the deer. One went for the head, one went for the neck, and one for the rear end. The female on the neck with the black male on he head and the gray on the rump. It was down before any noises could be heard, for these wolves weren't ones who made noise when doing anything except for howling and talking.
The deer, having been young, had just enough that the wolves were full once the meat was gone and only bones were left. Finding a nice cool stream, the trio washed down their meal before looking around again. All throughout this, not one had talked, not even one had made a noise. They were, as many packs had called them, the Assassin Trio, or the Silent Ones. They called themselves the Lucky Trio, having survived everything life through at them.

Zefal yipped along happily, he couldn't stop himself since howling was so fun and Vera never let him do it. His voice was young and untrained, full of ups and downs, warbles and whines that just wound into a jumble of incoherent banter.
Vera's ears flattened to her head and she edged closer to Zef. She watched Chii, but didn't join, instead barking a warning once and then keeping silent, eyes warily scanning the bushes so they wouldn't be approached by the new wolves unseen.
She hadn't felt threatened by the young sister duo, but these three were older, experienced wolves if their strong, distinct howls didn't say enough. Seleinis had said that the pack had been growing smaller and quieter, Hero had something to the same effect and yet, here were a pair and another trio of new pack members. Her ruby-toned eyes flashed and she held her tail up and wings outspread to make herself appear larger and more commanding.
Zef giggled at the funny sounds coming out of his throat and his tail set to pounding the dirt. He saw Vera come up to him and he nipped at her wings, "Come on sis!"
Zef smiled toothily and play-howled out a few more notes for her benefit, but Vera's ears just went back and she frowned down at him before casting her eyes back up to their surroundings.
