If there's no respid, there's no recovery and therefore no progress because one would be too out of it to actually progress. Some of the strength actually comes out of the recovery." I said. "It hasn't been all that hard for you on your trip, has it?" One asked. "You know, that reminds me of that one kid..." "Oh you're talking about that kid with the Gardevoir? Where was he from?" "Hoenn was it?" "Oh stories that he had to tell. Almost coming of age really." "Even I've learned that one... I guess Riolu's wanting to catch up to the rest of yours or something, for him to be so dead set on training." Aden said, thinking a bit. To him, it was about the only possible explanation. "That, or he's hoping for the day he evolves."

"To be honest, I haven't quite figured Riolu out when it came to that." I said to him.
"Oh yes, he has." one of them said. "Its a bit sad, almost. The Gardevoir in particular helped him a lot, or so he says."

"Not every story gets to be happy. but it doesn't mean we can't try and make the ending so. And he is extremely fortunate to have a Gardevoir by his side. They seem to have a very strong empathy for their trainers. I should know. I have one as well." Ryan says to the girls.

"Don't bother...if he has yet to tell ME anything yet, I doubt he'll say for you." I said.

"Yea, yea, we're moving..." I said, rolling my eyes. "Look, another bench." I said.

"Point taken..." Aden shrugged, going on ahead. Seeing the next bench, though, he stopped in front of it to start the reps over again. Part of him wondered just how intent that Riolu was on joining him and Blizzard, but he figured it wasn't something to be concerned with.

As the reps went on and the jogging time went on, it would be a while before Aden, Riolu, and I finished up with the whole lap of the park. While I was tired doing the exercises along side Aden, I felt pretty good. Riolu however tired out severely. Though I actually am quite surprised that he stayed up with us the entire way. I ended up carrying him off back to the playground to pick up the rest of the Pokemon.
"Well Ryan, I think we will take that into consideration. If you will excuse us though, we need to finish up closing up shop, but how about you come back by some time, I'm sure these two wouldn't mind facing you as we did."
"I wonder how well he would fare against the likes of us." The girls laughed together.

The battles I have had with you girls over the years have always been entertaining. " Ryan says with a smile. Ryan gives a small bow. "Goodnight, ladies. and I will see you all another time." he says before heading for the door.

Aden... well, he was managing to walk, to say the least. As for actual endurance, he'd be grateful once he got to the mansion or Pokemon Center. "Yeah... okay... I'm definitely seeing what you meant with the added weight now..."

I said as we finally made it back to the playground. A couple of mine were still staying amused. A couple of others however apparently played too hard. Ryan walks out into the cool of the deepening night. He was pondering whether to head back to the mansion, or just stay at the Pokemon Center. Honestly he had no reason to...oh wait, yes he did. There was a certain little dragon he should go get. Ryan starts making his way over towards the mansion.

"Well..." I took out a Pokeball and recalled my Riolu from my arms. "Go ahead and call them up and let's head back to the mansion. Tomorrow, we'll have Doc check them out then make our way to the gym." I said. "Sounds good?"

Ryan arrives at the mansion and makes his way to his room. As he enters, a small blur speeds over and attaches to his chest. Ryan wraps his arms around it and smiles. "I missed you too, Ruth." he says to the tiny dwarf dragonite that was now clinging too him, cooing and wiggling with delight to see his master again.
