Ah yes, let's roleplay mindlessly and suicidally walking into enemy artillery fire, even though such actions wouldn't work in a million years and surely will get half our army killed. But for some strange reason instead of doing intelligent warfare we still cling to the horribly outdated tactic of walking towards the enemy lines in columns which presents a easy target for the enemy, what with the technology of their rifles allowing almost pinpoint accuracy and cannon that could shoot a ball through a window of a house a mile away. It's almost as if they said "We hate life, we'll just walk straight at your cannons and you can kill us all."

It's a wonder the confederates lost.
