Something was bothering Mephi. He gave NG a small pat and walked over to Mephi. He placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Something bothering you? You keep looking at the tree outside," he asked. "If something's out there, then let us go and look. The rest can wait inside,"  

[Meph!stopheles]

I want you to stay here with the pack. Keep them busy.. Don't let them out of the cave until I give the word it's ok. And with that, he started walking out on his toes into the tall grass, not crouching low.. he wanted whoever was in the tree to see him coming. As he approached, he spoke up towards the newcomer. Hooi. Who's up there?

He frowned, annoyed he had to stay, but listened to Mephi. If he ran out after him, then all the others would follow. And that would just be one big mess of furs. He sat back by NG and settled his head on his arms, sliding his tail side to side.  

[Alektorphobia]

She slowly stepped from the tunnel, holding the crystal in her glowing paws. Her eyes looked spooked and she was being more quiet than usual. She walked over to the middle of the cave and sat down with the crystal in her lap.

Even though she was bright, Sirus noticed the extra glow as she returned. looking into her lap he was awed by the shining crystal that she held. He almost wanted to touch it, but stoped himself from doing so.

"Where did you get that?"  

[Alektorphobia]

She looked over her shoulder toward the tunnel she had just emerged from. "Through there....there's a cavern....full of crystals...this was the only one loose....in the middle of the room. There was a strange sound....like whispers..." She muttered as she looked at the crystal, her eyes seemed to shine with a new light.

"Whispers? How odd..." he muttered as he was captured by the light.

The glow seemed to match her own that she naturally had. Maybe the humans saw this and copied it some how? He couldn't really tell. He had been in these caves plenty of times, but this was the first he had ever seen of these crystals or whispering.  

[Alektorphobia]

She looked up at him and murmured "The whole cavern glows with this light....it reflects and bounces off the walls...and the sounds....were like they were in an unknown language" She looked at the crystal again and ran her fingers along the edges.

Sirus looked around at that comment. He really didn't notice it at all. He could only see the glow from the crystal. He nudged her softly to get her attention.

"Show me where you found this, I want to hear the whispers,"  

[Alektorphobia]

She stood up and held the crystal to her chest before grabbing his hand with hers and walking to the back of the cave where the larger tunnel was. It was only visible by the glowing of her fur and the strange crystal. She slowly led him down the tunnel, the black pressing in on them from the sides with only her glow to light the way.

His eyes started to adjust, but it was still too dark to really see clearing. He kept himself focused on the glowing aura around her. His other hand began to feel the cave wall, attempting to keep his bearings. Faintly, he began to hear a small noise, but nothing he could clearly make out.

Her ears pricked upwards as she began to hear the whispers again. She held the crystal closer to her chest and began to pull him along faster. Finally reaching the cavern, she stood at the entrance of it. The glowing light from it illuminated the entrance to the tunnel they had just come through. The whispering sounds pressed down on her, and her ears flattened against her skull. "There it is....can you hear the whispers....the sounds..." she said softly, barely above a whisper.

The noises were overwhelming. The beat down on the two as they stood and listened. His ears flattened as he looked at the crystal, glowing brighter. He was never the one to believe in the supernatural, but this was just odd.

"What is this?"  

[Alektorphobia]

She whimpered softly and held the crystal to her chest. "I don't know...the sounds...I'm scared...." She looked around the cavern at all the crystals and whimpered again. "Do you think we should take some back with us to Mephisto?"

"Yeah, I think Mephi would want to see this," he said.

He broke a piece off of the cave wall and took Sphixie's hand. Feeling his way along the wall he began to make his way back. He didn't like the sounds of the whispers, it hurt his head to listen to them too long. Sphixie's glow helped them find their way back. He sighed in relife as he saw the faint glow of the moon light.
