"Checkmate!" Dux screamed as he moved his queen into the direct path of the king. He got up, picked up his pieces, and put them in a bag. "Thanks for showing me how to play!" he said to Annette.

Annette laughed and yawned as he gathered her pieces. She called Sasha and went off to bed.

Noelle finishes her game quickly and goes to her room, she lays face down on her bed and picks up Aiko off the floor before she goes to sleep.

Willow struggled into the common room, dropping several books and sighing heavily. The common room was surprisingly empty so she sat down in a seat nearest the fire and began working on Defense of Dark Arts.

Dux enters through the portal and sits in the nearest chair. It is well past bedtime and he went for a midnight stroll after finishing his homework. He walked off to the dorm. It's almost holidays, Dux, try to keep yourself calm. he thought.

Nekko enters the common room and flops down on the couch blows her hair out of her eyes and begins to read and idiots guide to magic.

Dux walked in and sat in the chair near the portal and stared out the window. He thought of his parents and sister who did not have any powers. He had been called "mudblood" a few times, but he did not know what it meant. 'Choose who you want to be' his mother used to say. He still did not understand the meaning. It all came to him, no matter what people may say you are, only you can choose who you are. He stared at the blue sky and saw the crescent moon. He wondered what it was like to see the whole world in one day. He ran to the window, jumped out, and yelled "Crucio Broom! He grabbed the broom and floated in the air. He waited 'till dawn outside the window like this.
