Palpatine took Mara from her parents.

I was reading an old MAD magazine where they were making up ideas for the other unfinished episodes (this was back in the early 80s). And one of their jokes is that in the final movie, Luke finds out that his real father isn't Vader, it's "The Force". Does anyone else think it's kinda funny that after that, Anakin is a son of the midichlorians? Seems like GL is a MAD fan. xd

...well, that /is/ a whacky theory... and why would Mara end up with the Empire, then?
umm..

Vader wanted revenge, so he stole Ventress' baby (not knowing that it was his own child)

You know, that would mean Luke and Mara are half-siblings, which is almost as scary as Luke hooking up with Leia after all.

maybe they're SO advanced that they somehow control the spin of their planets around their axises to the degree that they can set it to a time they want... and whenever they go to backwards planets like degobah and tatooine, and that asteroid in ESB, it just happens to be the same or a similar time of day!

Not everything is Coordinated with GST in the SW universe. Every planet chooses to follow Coruscant Time, or it's own time. But official records are kept in GST to make things easier. It's the same way that all science is measured in metric here on earth. People don't get jetlag b/c flights aren't a matter of a few hours. they're a matter of a few days.

Theres no way thhat Hoth=Bespin was a few days, there so close on the galactic map, plus the falcon's the fastest ship in the galaxy.

and Bespin is a gas-giant so it would probably revolve WAY slower.

THERE WAS NO DARN JETLAG!

yeah... notice it seems no one ever sleeps during a trip to hyperspace?

But the Falcon's hyperdrive was broken for that trip, so it took a few weeks, not the couple hours it would have been if the Falcon was working. Trust me, they slept during that time.

It does seem like a whole lot of planets just happen to spin at or near 24 hours per day. Interesting . . .

wow... aside from the falcon's hyperdrive thing... no suggestions?

if Durza's stumped..

I don't think this is one that has a scientific rationalization. Unless indicated otherwise for storytelling purposes, such as Ryloth, an inhabited planet rotates somewhere in the vicinity of 24 hours per day. Just because it would be too complicated otherwise.

Or maybe they're not quite human, and have adapted to longer days, like 40-50 hours. you never know how much they could have evolved.

and that's /my/ silly hypothesis. >.>
