Blizzard120 Darksol88 Aden backed up when the Shock Wave harmlessly bounced off Mismagius. Stall tactics... fun. "Okay, so much for that... Nidorino, how're you holding up?" "(Make it stop already!)" He was getting tired of that tune ringing through. In more ways than one. "Just endure what you can. Uh... alright, try this! Toxic Spikes! Lay them everywhere!" He called. Sounding as good as any other idea, Nidorino started jabbing the ground, injecting poisonous barbs as he ran about. The MIsmagius hovered above the spikes, starting to feel the effects of the song that she moans out as well. Kristy stared in confusion, but then had a realization about something. Something she couldn't avoid. Once she loses Mismagius, her next Pokemon is as good as poisoned. Sadly, unlike her teacher, she didn't have anything with a Poison attribute. However, she could do something instead. She too could make things hard for Aden later... "Mismagius, Trick Room." She said. The Mismagius focuses then unleashed a hard discharge of Chi in the area; the colors inverted, the scenery distorted. "What is she trying to do?" I asked. This wasn't something I known Kristy to pull. "..." Aden just gave an unamused look. "Really?" If anything, he was suddenly glad that he had long since been introduced to this move. Stranger still, Nidorino seemed to be moving a little faster, but that might've been an illusion. For all he knew, he might've really been moving at a snail's pace."Nidorino, don't worry about what just happened, keep laying those spikes!" Aden was already getting an idea in mind. He knew Trick Room might trip him up a bit, but he'd just have to stay calm. He couldn't afford to panic here.

It was only another minute before that attack sets in. Aden just laid an extra layer of spikes, and it did look in fact that Nidorino was moving considerably faster. Even faster than Mismagius, upon closer inspection. Kristy knew this, and she only needed to work a minute more. "Mismagius, confuse ray." She said.
A burst of light was unleashed upon the Nidorino. She didn't need to lose the song at the moment.

In fact, Nidorino teetered a little as he was blinded, stopping with the spikes. Most of his strength waning didn't help either. But he was barely able to fight the confusion enough to try and compliment Mismagius.

Perish song finally took its toll on the ghost...

As soon as Mismagius fell, so did Nidorino. He couldn't keep up any longer, the dreadful tune sapping everything he had. "Knew it... but this just might work. Thanks, Nidorino." Aden spoke up before recalling him.
"This already looks bad..." Ceramew said, looking down.
"I wouldn't be so sure, what with all the spikes in the ground. Whatever comes next may be feeling that." Sol countered.
Then he saw Aden replace Nidorino with Raticate. If there was a moment that'd manage to impress him... "See, nothing to worry about."
It took Ceramew a second to realize exactly what was going on, between the spikes and choice of Pokemon. When she did, she looked dumbfounded. "Nothing to worry about? Did he fall on his head on the way here to do something like that!?"
"Back at the Ruins of Alph, according to him."
"...Shut up."

I said to the two. "Considering who is next..." Kristy had a show of reluctance, only for a second. Apparently the psychological pressure wasn't enough. Not anymore, anyways. She had to really step it up now. As it stands the two of them were all tied up still. She could still end this; perhaps rather easily. She just have to find out... "Mismagius, thank you. Return." She said, recalling the Mismagius, Seeing the Raticate, this could go either way. Ghost attacks were definately going to be out of the question, but there were more than one way to end a rat. "Dusknoir." She tossed out the Pokeball and out upon the floor and revealed the Dusknoir, ready for battle. "NOOOIIRRR-OOOOORRR!" The Dusknoir jerked back upon arrival and saw the several spikes stuck on its exterior. It shook off the spikes pretty easily. Unfortunately, the poison works quick. Even poison can affect a ghost, it seems. "This will decide the outcome of the match. Raticate versus Dusknoir! Begin!" The ref called out. "Dusknoir, Fire Punch!" With the Trick Room still in effect, the Dusknoir rushed over towards the rat with a flaming fist.

"Sucker Punch!"
Raticate turned out to be a lot slower than Dusknoir was, taking the hit and being left to endure it. However, it wasn't without punishment, with the rat retaliating by trying to throw a punch to catch Dusknoir off-guard.

The Sucker Punch caught the Dusknoir without fail, and to great effectiveness for that matter. "Apparently you have learned a thing or two. No matter, it will take more than counter-measures to stop him." Kristy said. She looked over towards the Dusknoir, knowing that the poison was going to claim the ghost any time now. She was on the clock, but she remained composed as always. "Dusknoir, Faint Attack." The Dusknoir faded into the darkness, then from the shadows under Raticate's two feet, landed a sucker punch of its own, smashing into the rat.

Ryan was watching quietly. he wanted Aden to beat Kristy. Knock her down a few pegs. Ruth was also watching as intently as his master, but for different reasons. there was a lot of action going and the little dragon didn't want to miss any of it.

Raticate couldn't hope to get away, not even seeing the opponent until it was too late. He went backwards from the impact, hitting the ground. And, unfortunately, one of the numerous toxic spikes on the ground too. It wouldn't be long before Raticate was feeling the effects too.
Aden cringed, but as he saw it, this might just work. "Okay.. how about this, then? Raticate, Pursuit!" He called.
Though still slowed from Trick Room's effects, Raticate managed to fling himself after Dusknoir to catch back up.

The Pursuit caught the Dusknoir, but to not as great of strength as the Sucker Punch prior. It may not have seemed like it, but the Dusknoir actually had a bit of defensive prowess to it. "Ugh, if Aden doesn't get the lead out, that Dusknoir is going to take out the rat before the poison gets the better of it." "Dusknoir, use Dark Pulse." Kristy spoke. "NOIR!" The Dusknoir flew back a bit then unleashed its attack towards the rat.

Raticate taking yet another hit, plus the quickly worsening poison, left Aden feeling a bit of dread. There couldn't have been a lot more Raticate could take if the punishment kept up, and sturdy as Dusknoir was, he wasn't going to take it down easily. He tried to think, figure out something.
"Raticate, Bite!" He called after what seemed like an eternity, watching Raticate press through the pulse to clamp down with chi-infused fangs.

Kristy shouted, but as the Dusnkoir went to put his guard up, the rat clamped down with its sharp fangs. "NOOOIRRR!" The Dusknoir tried to shake off the rat as its strength started to succumb to the poison. It wasn't quite out yet though. "Dusknoir, get it off! Use another Dark Pulse!" Unfortunately for Kristy, the Dusknoir was more intent on shaking the rat. That bite was something to flinch at.

"Now, Assurance!" Aden called in return. As he saw it, it was a race against time. One of those two were going to fall sooner or later. "We still have a chance here!"
Raticate seemed to take this as biting harder, clamping down even more than he already did. To him, it was a way of adding salt to the wound.

Raticate seemed to take this as biting harder, clamping down even more than he already did. To him, it was a way of adding salt to the wound. The damage continued to intensify, the poison continued to eat away at the Dusknoir, but with one hard shake, it managed to shake off the rat. The field then started to flicker, then its color scheme started to come back to normal. Mismagius's influence no longer had an effect on the field. "Its of no consenquence...Dusknoir! Finish that Raticate! Fire Punch!" she shouted. The Dusknoir started to light its fist aflame, but as it looked forward, its vision started to turn real hazy. The fire then started to dissipate. "Dusknoir? Dusknoir!?" The Dusnkoir drifted down to the ground, managing to hold itself up by its two arms, but then promptly passes out. The assurance damage was just to grand, the poison didn't quite help matters either for that matter. The ref looked out on the field then raised its flag. "That's the end of the battle. The winner of this match goes to Raticate and Aden of Agate Village!" It would be there that Kristy's composure shook for the first time in a while, by simply having her mouth hang open in disbelief.
