If this movie turns out to be another disapointing remake, then so help me god I'm burning HollyWood to the ******** ground.

I think it will be good. It has Christian Bale and Russel Crowe in it and in my opinion they are both very good actors. (But I will help you burn Hollywood if it sucks. I can't stand more dissapointment. We need more good westerns dammit!)

We need more good movies period... Hollywood has been really sucking for awhile. I hope the Bourne Ultimatium will be good, but that's the only really interesting movie I see in the immediate future, but that western looks pretty interesting.

I just hope "3:10 to Yuma" will be as good as the original.

It wont be.
down in my soul I know it wont.
But if it tanks incredibly, HollyWood goes up like a tinderbox.

My recipie for how likely a movie will be good:
Plotline divided by notable actors equals success.

Think of it like Diffusion in biology or chemistry.
The more well known actors a movie stars, the crappier it is more likely to become.

Ah. I thought thats what you meant.
So its a variation of the Inverse ninja law which states that the more ninjas you have, the worse they are.
In this case, the more famous actors you pack into a film, the more they bring the film down. Thusly, a film with one famous actor and a bonch of nobodies will be a better flick in the same way that one lone ninja is a frightening killing machine.

Generally, yes. Not always, like Independence day with seven notables (of the era, three from star trek alone), but usually.

I was watching Independence Day the other night. Good film, used to watch it all the time when I was younger.

Nelowulf Generally, yes. Not always, like Independence day with seven notables (of the era, three from star trek alone), but usually. Theres always an exeption or two hiding around somewhere. the Inverse Ninja Law is Law only in the scientific sense of the word and not in the Legal sense of it.

I always figured that a movie can have a good script and two notables and still be very good. After that I think the law can come into effect.

The only other thing which annoys me is poor casting... Like when someone's too old or too young for a part... but the formula for that is far more difficult.
