Adelline sighed, "When I was first turned, I was very much in love with a young boy by the name of James. Once I was turned I continued my relationship with him for as long as possible. He had no idea I was Spade. I watched him grow old, I saw how he looked at me while I was still youthful, I even sat next to him as he lay dying." she continued to look out the window. "Had I been human, I would have died with him, we were the same age. I didn't have the heart to tell him I was a vampire. He may have feared me then, or even request that he become what I was, cursed." She said this last word with a small smile and turned back to Bradley. "Let's just say it has it's downsides. Life flies by when you can't die."

"Well I think it would be nice. I mean you stay beautiful. There's always someone stupid enough to be around you. They don't know what they are getting into until it's too late and they lay there with their life juice flowing through the wound." Bradley said smirking. "So I guess it does have some bad things as well as good."

"Yes you're right as long as you never fall in love with your victims it will always be ok." she smiled and pulled her knees up to her chest. It felt comforting for the most part, she hated thinking about her past. Being in the car right now was much better than what she had had to live through.

Bradley stopped the car outside of his house. "Well we're home don't worry you'll be ok." He said patting her on the shoulder.

"Heh, I suppose you are right." She said opening her door and walking up the short stairs to his front door. She had her hands behind her back and was looking at the ground deep in thought. Then she yawned, "So what are your plans for tonight?"

"Well after dinner I was planning on watching some television or just read some more of my book. Was there something specific you wanted to do?" He asked her confused.

"No no not at all." she smiled and looked up to the sky wondering why she was not telling him the truth about something so stupid. "I will probably find myself on your roof tonight, it looks quite inviting Bradley."

"Well alright just don't hurt yourself." Bradley said sighing. "As long as that is what you want?" He said as he unlocked the door and walked in.

"Yes, yes it is." she smiled and went straight to the kitchen where grabbed the entire bottle of red wine and a glass. "Eh, I should be back in about an hour I would say." she smiled and waved at him.

Walking past a lovely grand father clock, she noticed the time. The bell chimed, it was seven o'clock. She sighed and made her way outside so she could get to the roof.
Valerian was already waiting for his master.He was standing under a street light tapping his foot. "Well I have come early so at the very least I have done my part in this situation." He sighed looking at his watch once more.

Bradley sighed as he realized just how late it was and made sure the television was on the right channel when he went to go make food. He pulled out some beef, oatmeal, tomato sauce, eggs, and then some extra stuff for his own version of meatloaf. "Why don't I conserve this instead of completely eating it." He said to himself finishing his preparations.
Dr. Drake entered into Valerian's line of sight. "Good nice to see you here. Do come inside I have some private matters to discuss with you and you have some with me it would seem." He said before walking towards the house they were standing outside of. This house was only about two blocks away from Bradley's.

Adelline took a swig of the wine, she was daydreaming again and completely not feeling herself. First the change, then jail, now Valerian? She was afraid of what would happen next. Then she heard voices. Looking down one side of the street she saw nothing, but looking down the other she felt herself shiver slightly. There was Valerian and a man standing under a street light.
"Inside your home... no I couldn't I would feel much better out here." He looked around feeling a tingling at his neck hairs. "It feels much too formal master, I simply could not impose." He had never been in this neighborhood and he felt quite suspicious.

"Oh nonsense how can we talk about our private matters where humans can come and interrupt us. Plus this isn't my home it's just an empty home in this town that no one goes in." Dr. Drake said smirking. "Come on my second in command can't be scared can he?"

"Scared?" Valerian smirked. "What do I have to fear master." He calmed down and followed behind him into the supposedly empty home. I wonder what he has to tell me.
For a moment she hesitated, but then set the wine bottle on the roof and jumped down. She peered into one of the windows to see that Bradley was not in the living room. Probably in the kitchen. She thought darting across the lawns and stealthily looking into one of the windows.
