Adi had been looking over the club rosters for several days, writing out a list of which ones to take and what order priority to give them. Per his mom's request, he'd join music club to keep his piano skills sharp since he wasn't old enough to join the actual class. It was alright, and perhaps he'd learn another new instrument. He debated for a long time if he'd need his wheelchair or not, but he felt pretty energetic and figured they'd have chairs. Of course, his walker had a seat too, if he absolutely gave up. Which, since the school didn't have a lift (and said he wasn't allowed to build one??), he'd have to practice longer walks. Not like he hadn't had to pause and rest before.
So the boy grabbed a comfy shirt and one of the hoodies that had hidden zips, then started the journey. By the time he reached the fourth floor, he had to sit and let his legs stop shaking for a few minutes before he braved the stairs again. Thankfully, he'd calculated breaks into his time, and he heard the sound of a piano being played. "Perfect timing," he said under his breath as he walked the last handful of feet to the door. Inside was an older boy at the piano, alongside a little table that had paperwork and some tantalizing bread. "Hello! Um, you're really good. Are you the captain? And.... are we allowed some of this bread? It smells lovely!" He grinned, leaning on his walking frame's support so he could fill out the paperwork required. With a confirmation, he lifted the slice of bread, then shuffled to a seat near the piano. After all, he had to wait his turn!

Music had been a part of Finn’s life for as long as he could remember, it seemed as much a part of him as drawing breath. When he found out there was a Music Club, he made sure to pack his instruments with him, although Dad put his foot down and restricted him to only two of the guitars and his fiddle. Being a sometimes session player with his parents’ group, the Causeway Hares, he needed to keep in practice, especially if he wanted to play any gigs with them over the holidays.
Finn was dressed casually for his foray to the club, wearing jeans and a dark green sweatshirt, over which he had a Causeway Hares concert tour Tee-shirt (having played during that particular tour, he’d earned it), and he brought his fiddle, safely ensconced in its case. It was his sincere hope he might find somebody to jam with, whom might have a love for Irish folk music, or Celtic rock.
Making his way up towards the area, he could soon hear a piano being played, and knew he was heading to the right place. Walking in, he saw an older student (likely the Club Captain, he guessed) playing the piano, while one of his own fellow Young Lions, Adi, was there, waiting in the wings. He flashed his fellow Young Lion a grin and a wave, as he filled out the form, and snagged a slice of what turned out to be some absolutely marvelous banana bread. When his turn came up, after Adi, of course, he opened up his violin case.
Standing in the middle of the floor, Finn composed himself before starting to play ‘Viva La Vida’. When he was done, he asked with a bit of a chuckle and a slight grin, “So, do I pass the audition?’

Luna was super happy about being back at school with her friends and her classes. Most importantly she would be back in the music club. Clubs easily filled her weekends what with culinary club being on Saturday morning and music club being on Sundays in the afternoon. It was nice through as it got her away from her cozy book nook of solitude and over to the more social side of school. Luna had friends don’t get her wrong, but she also was a bookworm with a love of burying herself in text. Throwing on a flower shirt and a sweater, Luna grabbed her guitar and headed to the music room. Yes, this time around Luna came prepared with her guitar from home. Honestly, she barely could survive without it. She hoped to get a chance to play it. “Made it, instrument included.” She declared entering the room. Immediately she heard the piano playing and knew it would be Mason. Much like last year there was a snack offering with the sign in sheet. There also seemed to be a few first years looking to join. "Hi, I'm Luna." She greeted. Scribbling down her answers like last year before grabbing a bread slice, she watched as one of the first years played on their violin. "That's impressive." Roxie had spent the summer practicing her instruments, grateful that lots of her family played various instruments. At Finley's insistence, she agreed to learn a jazz instrument, only to make his eye twitch when she got a saxophone, rather than his precious, beloved trumpet. For music club, she had to pick what to bring. It was a difficult choice! She ended up grabbing her guitar and her sax, then headed out. With her poppy outfit, she knew she'd need to play something funky. And maybe Liv would be there for a jam sesh! It would be awesome!
"Liv! Luna! Hey girls! Wanna jam? Because I'm ready to play!" she laughed, setting down her chosen instruments to fill in an application and steal some bread. Oh man, she loved bananas! Walking over to her friends, she grinned happily. Hopefully they were in happy spirits as well!

Roxie was stoked that she was gifted charge of Music Club. She spent many hours in the music room with her various instruments and it was a great way to spend even more. She wrote up all the application forms, then dressed in a cute outfit. Grabbing her violin, bass, and guitar, the blonde headed on the way. Once she'd made it to the club room, Roxie started setting up. Chairs were placed around, instruments were set up, and she even had time to sprint down to the kitchen for a giant platter of cookies. Once she'd returned, the cookies were set out beside the applications. Perfectly timed for the club's opening.

Linsey Grey-Cavendish Ravenclaw │ Seventh Year │ Seventeen Years Old │ Single │ Head Girl & Ravenclaw Prefect │ Quidditch Captain │ Art & Culinary Club Captain
Linsey smiled as she and Finn went over to the Music Room to be there for the opening of the Music Club. As much as music was a part of the weft and weave of her soul, Linsey never formally joined the club, even though she liked sitting in on club sessions, and just being in the room while others performed. Being this was her last year at school, she wanted to be a part of a club she hadn’t been asked to manage, have fun with her cousin and the other musicians, and maybe coax her little sister into joining the party. As it was, she was an occasional member of the Causeway Hares, and a founding member of the younger collection of musicians referred to originally as a sort of joke ‘the Mad Rabbits’, and the soloist at church when she wasn’t at school. It only made sense she join in the chorus of voices while she had the chance to be a part of it.
Finn had been waiting all summer to get back to the Music Club, as he’d been itching for the chance to jam with the other musicians there. He and Linsey performed at the Waterford Art Festival back in June, and he went on tour with the Causeway Hares over the rest of the month and in through July and partway through August, before coming back home to study and be with his friends, Rey in particular, as she’d been having a rough go of things. This morning, though Music Club was all he could talk about at breakfast, and he tried his best to get Ella to come join them, and play the piano as she had for them on occasion.
Right then, he and Linz looked as though they might still be on tour. Finn was wearing a Causeway Hares ‘Live at Waterford’ sweatshirt over a pair of jeans and his trainers, while Linsey was wearing her own concert sweatshirt, as she and Finn, both earned theirs by being part of the tour, over a dress shirt and a long, pleated medium blue shirt and a pair of comfortable wool-lined slipper shoes. She was carrying her practice acoustic guitar, as she decided it was wiser to keep her nice Gibson she got at a music shop in New York City at home. Linsey was also helping him out by lugging the case for his twelve-string acoustic guitar, while he carried his six-string acoustic guitar and his fiddle.
As he walked into the room, he saw Roxie already there, and he said cheerfully, “Hey, Roxie, look who I brought to the jam. Got us one o’ the Mad Rabbits I did, an’ it didna take much persuadin’ either.” Linsey chuckled along, taking what her cousin said in the spirit in which it was intended. She said in her gentle tone, “Hi, Roxie, I thought I might officially be part of the group on my last go-around at school. If nothing else, it’ll be a nice study break.” The two musicians unloaded their instruments, and Linsey shrugged the bag off her shoulder, before going over to fill out the club forms.

“We’re going to be playin’ like mad rabbits if’n we’re te pull this off, Linz, I’m thinkin’,” said Finn, as he and his cousin started getting ready to perform. It was a big difference between just them performing, and having the whole rest of the band backing them up. Linsey smiled, and said, “Two Mad Rabbits can manage jus’ fine. How about I go first? After yours, mine would be a bit of a letdown.” Finn nodded, and said, “Sounds good to me, Linz.”
Linsey sat down, and strummed a few chords to make sure her guitar was still tuned, while Finn got his violin ready. Before doing anything more, she got a small easel out of her bag, and set a picture frame upon it, so it faced out to the members of the club. To the audience “This song was originally performed in Scottish, which I translated to Irish, and then I wrote the arrangement. It’s called ‘‘A’ phiuthrag ’sa phiuthar’.”
When she was ready, she touched the frame, and as she and Finn played, the frame showed the story which went along with the song. It showed two sisters walking along, venturing into the woods, where they stopped to rest. While the older sister slept, the younger one was drawn by the song of the fey folk who were also afoot that evening. Her older sister awoke, and worried for her younger sister went in search for her. She found her sister, dancing along with the fey, and when she got close, the fey turned into owls who carried her younger sister along with them.
Many years later, the older sister, her hair now gray, her face lined with age, was walking along that path as the snows were starting to fall. She saw a snowy owl fly over her, land in a tree, and there was her younger sister as young as ever. She jumped down from the tree and she took her older sister’s hands, and started leading her along. The final scene showed a flash of light, and then a pair of owls flying away, one a small white owl, the other a larger gray owl. Linsey sang, using a charm to create the impression of a duet, while playing the delicate chords on her guitar, as Finn played his violin sweetly in accompaniment. The arrangement also made room to accommodate a piano, but that was only if Ella was of a mind to play.
As the scene in the frame faded to white, Linsey looked up at smiled at her cousin, and Finn gave her a hug. He then set aside his violin, trading it for his acoustic guitar. Linsey then shot off a series of spells, casting them upon herself, Finn, his guitar and the drum kit nearby. Finn then started his own rendition of ‘Siúil a rún’. Unlike the tender ballad which Linsey rendered, this was a powerful rendition, with Finn’s voice boosted, his guitar now sounding like an electric guitar, while Linsey provided the acoustic backup, as she charmed her whistling to sound like a press button accordion, while the drum kit she charmed pounded out the rhythm. As they neared the bridge in the song, Finn looked over at his cousin, who gave him a small grin and a nod, which was his cue to add the soliloquy:
"History says not to be courageous ’, On this side of the end stone. But once in a lifetime, the wild wave of justice rises to the horizon shining and history and hope marry. So, look for the sea change, on the other side of revenge. Believe in the white shore, it is not far from us. Believe in the miracle, believe in the peace, believe in the well of healing, Believe."
When the cousins were done, and the charms allowed to expire, the two of them relaxed. As sweat poured down his brow, Finn gave Linsey a laugh and a grin, and he said cheerfully, “Aye now thot be a good way te get the party goin’.”
