Micha couldn’t sleep, causing him to finally get up and move. He was growing hungry as he sat here. Alcohol was not a substitute for a meal. Micha took his phone with him, as he went downstairs to his kitchen. Turning on the light, he walked toward his fridge. Micha opened it up as he looked inside. He had some leftover pizza which was only since yesterday when Samuel and he had ordered pizza instead of cooking or going out. Since his ‘accident’ Micha hadn’t done much cooking like he usually did. Grabbing a few slices out of the box, he set it on a plate he had taken out of the dish strainer. He took the plate heading toward the living room. Micha didn’t own a tv, but had gotten one in the last month, since Samuel usually watched it more than he did. He grabbed the remote clicking it on and flipping through the channels as he ate.
While he ate, his phone went off. He read the text and smiled a little to himself. It was true, he wished he was there. At least then he would be able to sleep comfortable. Another message came in, and he opened it. Micha found the view amazing, both Samuel and the city. He smirked a little, ”Nice view, wish I could join you. At least then, I could get a good night sleep. Micha texted him, he was so used to Samuel sleeping with him it was only normal that he would not be able to sleep.

Standing in front of the window, Samuel had just sent his message. He didn't think that the male would be out so quickly. Not that he minded. He understood that this was just a one night stand, and this person had things to do, people to see, and maybe even a home to get to. He continued to admire the view of the Eiffel Tower and the city life below him. Soon after, he heard the male come into the room behind him. He fiddled with his phone, wondering what Micha was doing right now. He mentioned not being able to sleep. Which was kind of funny when he thought back to their conversation in the diner. Wasn't it just the opposite a few days ago? He stood there contemplating sending another text when arms looped around him and a kiss was pressed his cheek. He smiled softly when he spoke, and felt his arms leave him just as soon as they embraced him. "You're welcome." he said just before the male left the room. Samuel waited until he heard the door click behind him. Crossing the room he went to lock the door behind the male. He sighed softly, now alone in the big hotel room.
Well....almost. His phone vibrated in his hand, indicating another message. Samuel turned out the remaining lights and went back to lay on the bed. He smiled at the males message, laughing a bit. "Can't say I didn't try to invite you." he teased, and hitting send. He looked at the second half on the message and thought a bit before sending another message. "You could always snuggle up with a pillow wink " sending the next message, Samuel reached for another cigarette. It was getting late but he wanted to keep talking to Micha. Despite what he just did, he still missed him and really cared about him. He thought about how he could never find out and this was something that could not go back to New York with him.

The idea of going to Paris was nice, however he would only be in the way. He knew Samuel needed to work and didn’t want to be a bother. It was easier to just be at home. However he was likely to wonder the city if he had gone to Paris, but he couldn’t guarantee his return. MIcha knew if he had gone to Paris with Samuel, he wouldn’t have returned. He would have likely stayed even if Samuel wanted him to leave. Micha soon finished his pizza as he took his plate back to the kitchen and washed his hands. He returned to the living room as he laid down on the couch. Seeing he had a message, he smiled a little, Yes, however I would only be in the way. Micha texted as he lay there. He read Samuel second message and laughed softly. It’s just not the same. Micha texted before moving to turn off the tv and head back upstairs to his bedroom.

Even as he sent the message he knew what sort of reply he might receive. It was no secret how much Micha loved this city. He knew what sort of special memories it held for him and that it would be impossible to pry him away from it. Still....he wished he was here. Slipping the cigarette between his lips, he lit up his second one for the night. He made himself comfortable, thinking only of Micha. His phone buzzed again and he read the text. "Doubt it. Besides we both know you'd be off exploring the city." he replied. Samuel inhaled slowly, smiling when another message came through. It really was funny how the conversation had reversed itself. "Lol so spray one of the colognes I left at your place on it. You'll never know the difference." Exhaling towards the ceiling, he looked at the clock again. It really was getting late. He needed to be up early. As much as it pained him to admit, he would need to get some sleep some. With his lack of a warm body to cling to and the combined jet lag, it was going to be a rough night of sleeping for him as well.

There were many sights to see in Paris; one thing in particular he wanted to visit was the Louvre. He had never been but the idea of going had always been a dream of his. Micha knew Samuel would let him go, however he didn’t want to go to Paris to spend time by himself. If he went he wanted it to be spent with Samuel. Reading Samuel’s text, he laughed softly. The male knew him so well, it was true he would barley be in the hotel room. Micha was most likely going to be off exploring the city and spending too much money on unwanted things. As he read Samuel’s next and pouted slightly, I would know...Having you here with your arms around me would mean more. Micha wrote as he lay there. He was making himself depressed knowing Samuel was off in another country and wouldn’t be back for a while.

If it truly was just a bit of exploring, then he saw no reason in allowing Micha to come along with him. But they both knew that wasn't likely. Paris was as much Micha's hometown as Manhattan was his. Send them both elsewhere but those two places would always feel like home. Even if Micha did come along it would likely end up being him in offices all day, working. And Micha would be exploring every nook and cranny as if rediscovering an old lover. Samuel Took two more pulls before setting the cigarette in the ashtray on the nightstand. Another text soon came through and all he could do was sigh. He didn't know what Micha wanted him to tell him. He asked him, multiple times he asked him if he wanted to come with him. Practically begged him to come with him. Every time the male would say something like he had things he needed to do. Every time he would say that it was important to find a new place to live, to get back to his own work. A part of him did feel guilty for making the male feel this way. But the other was just tired. Micha made his choice. "I'll be back before you know. Promise." Hitting send, Samuel stretched his tired limbs and yawn. Reaching over, he stubbed out his still smoking cigarette. "It's getting late here. I need to sleep now. I'll text you in the morning " Samuel sent his last text message and rolled over to try to sleep.
His alarm clock went off at exactly eight thirty that morning. Bright sunlight streamed into the room through the open curtain. His room was a little stale with the smell of sweat, sex, and cigarettes. He was going to need to air it out a bit and have a maid change the sheets. Hopefully they hadn't reached his floor yet. Pushed back the covers, Samuel rose from the bed. He padded into the bathroom, flipping on the light and went about his morning routine. While he was cleaning up, he checked to see what sort of marks the man from last night might have left upon him. To his surprise, the scratches on his back weren't as back as he originally thought them to be. But the hickeys on his neck were something he would have to worry about for the next couple of days. He would have to be careful that Micha couldn't see them whenever he sent him pictures. Leaving the bathroom, Samuel went about getting dressed and gathering his items. He had a little over an hour before he needed to get to his meeting. But he wanted to get a bit of breakfast before he went. Finishing getting dressed and taking his items he walked out of his room, removing the Do Not Disturb sign before he did so. The hotel was bright and quiet. Most likely not many people were up and about at this hour. He didn't blame them, he would have preferred to sleep in a little longer. But that would mean skipping out on breakfast if he did.
Hopping on to the first elevator, he rode it down to the main floor. The lobby was a bit more busy. People behind the desk were checking people out, others were taking care of guests outside the hotel by hailing cabs and helping with luggage. Samuel walked out the revolving door and made his way down the street where he remembered seeing a cafe last night. He sat at one of the tables outside and in broken French, he was able to order himself a black coffee, one fried egg, and a bagel. Thanking the waitress, he waited quietly, admiring the view and the people going about their day. It wasn't long before the waitress returned, setting down his food and coffee. He smiled and pulled out his phone once she was gone. Samuel quickly snapped a picture of his breakfast and sent it to Micha with the words "Good morning, babe <3"

It was getting late and they both needed to sleep, Samuel especially. Micha knew Samuel had a long day ahead of him, he needed to let him sleep. He smiled a little as he read Samuel’s text. True he hoped time went by quickly but there was no telling how quickly. Samuel would be gone for a month, or longer. Micha was only making himself depressed thinking about it and it was only day one. He read Samuel’s last text smiling a little. Good night. Love you. Micha texted before putting his phone aside. He rolled over pulling the blankets closer. Micha grabbed Samuel’s pillow pulling it closer as he closed his eyes. His imagination was lacking but at least it did smell like Samuel. It helped calm him a little enough to doze off.
Morning came, as Micha slept for only a few hours. He mostly tossed and turned all night. Finally as his phone went off, he rolled over. Micha grabbed his phone picking it up. He smiled reading the text. Looks delicious. Good morning. Sleep well? Micha texted before finally getting out of bed. He set his phone aside as he went into the bathroom to take care of some morning business.
After he finished, Micha turned the shower on. He needed a shower, as Samuel’s cologne was clinging to him from his pillow. Micha turned the shower on as he took off his clothes. He tossed them into a dirty clothes bin before climbing into the shower. Feeling the warm water run over him, helped to calm him. Micha closed his eyes as he lend his head back, letting the water run over him.
A quick shower, and he was out. Micha went into the bedroom to change into some fresh clothes. He pulled on a gray knit sweater, along with black pants. MIcha finished getting dressed, as he pulled on his shoes and socks. He didn’t bother combing his hair out, after all it would dry eventually. Micha left his bedroom as he grabbed his phone to head downstairs. He needed to start doing something he couldn’t continue to mope around.

Morning came however Avery was not in the mood. He didn’t have any plans for this morning, but later tonight he did. Avery had an event tonight. He knew Jean would get around to calling him when he was on his way just to make sure he was awake. Avery had already gotten about three texts last night, before, during and after he met with Samuel. His last being right before he went to sleep. The man was relentless but he did his job well. Avery couldn’t fault him for that.
No longer being able to sleep, he figured he would at least get some shopping done. Avery slipped out of the bed to get dressed. He didn’t bother with another shower as he went to his closet. Avery didn’t need to worry about taking anything off as he stood in front of his closet with boxers on. He debated on a few items before finally grabbing a graphic tee and jeans. Avery quickly dressed as he grabbed his gray converse shoes with socks. He sat on the edge of his bed as he put his shoes on. Avery didn’t bother with his hair as he ran a hand through it.
Outside he made his way down the street. There was a subway track near by. It didn’t take long to get there the climbed down the stairs, pulling his wallet from his pocket. He slid his metrocard as he got to the gates. Avery slipped between the turnstile. He made his way toward the platform to wait for the subway. Avery checked his phone seeing there would be one in a few minutes.

It was a little surprising to find Micha up so early. What with the time difference, he would have thought he'd opt to sleep in a little more. But perhaps he was simply missing him as much as Samuel missed Micha. One day apart and they were both missing each other. It was cute, but also said something. This time apart would be good for them, he was sure of it. They just needed to get used to it was all. Samuel basked in the morning sunlight enjoying his breakfast. He read the males other message that he had overlooked this morning, finding it to be sweet. A few minutes passed as Samuel ate before his phone beeped beside him. He opened it up to see another yet. Wiping his hands and mouth, he began to write his response. "It is! I'm gonna have to find some coffee beans to bring back with me biggrin " Hitting send, he took another sip of his text. He wasn't sure how exactly to respond to the second half of his text. While he did miss Micha, he couldn't flat out say that he slept all that terribly. Maybe it was because of the liquor, maybe it was because he had sex, or maybe it was just pure jet lag. He couldn't really say. After another minute passed he knew he needed to reply. "I slept okay. The jet lag didn't really help though. I'm still on New York time." After sending the text Samuel focused on his breakfast. He took his time eating and enjoying the coffee. All the while he kept track of his time. His meeting was in an office about fifteen minutes from his hotel. And it was to take place at exactly ten o'clock this morning. His phone went quiet after awhile and he wondered if Micha had gone back to sleep. It wouldn't be surprising if he did. When he finished eating it was 9:19 A.M. Not enough time to really do any exploring. But he didn't want to sit around waiting either. Samuel paid for his meal and gulped down the rest of his coffee. Standing from his table, he then decided to walk a little down the street. Little shops featuring all sorts of items were open and bustling with their morning rush. As he came closer to the main roads he was able to hail a cab. He gave the cab driver the address of the office and slipped into the back of the car.
Weaving through the busy morning streets, they passed a few scenic places. He conversed with the driver on where he was from and in turn was told a number of places that were less tourist-y that he should check out while he was in town. Samuel thanked the man and then turned to admire the view as they passed. He could see why Micha was so in love with the city. It was gorgeous. As they neared closer he pulled out his phone again and text Micha. "I'm heading to a meeting. Won't be able to reply for a few hours, TTYL. Love you, take care."

True it was early for Micha but he couldn’t stand to just sit around. He needed to do something, he wasn’t fit yet to take clients but he was growing bored. After a month of healing he was ready to get back on his feet. Micha knew that Samuel and he needed time apart but also he needed time by himself. He had been with Samuel for the last months every day, and hadn’t been by himself. Not that he minded, but he had to stand on his own for awhile.
Having not even had any breakfast, Micha left his house to head to head to Grisha’ restaurant. He hadn’t talked to his friend since he had gotten hurt the first time. Micha was keeping his distance knowing what Grisha would say, but he didn’t want to cause him trouble. As he walked down the street, he felt his phone go off in his pocket. Micha smiled as Samuel wrote about bringing him coffee beans. He laughed a little wondering if that was his surprise gift.
Reading Samuel’s next text, it was a little off to him. He knew Samuel would be off a little due to changing time zones. Micha could understand that. Well don’t be late to your meeting. He texted teasing Samuel. Micha knew Samuel needed to get to his meeting.
Heading toward the subway, Micha headed down into the platform He was a little nervous riding it, after all he had to pass his old studio to get to Grisha’s restaurant. As he stood on the platform waiting for the subway, MIcha felt his phone go off again. He checked his phone smiling to himself. Love you too. Micha texted before putting his phone back into his pocket.
It didn’t take long to get to the location near his old studio. Micha took his time getting off the subway and heading upstairs. He had no reason to rush, as he tried to contain his fear. In the last month he hadn’t heard anything from him father but that didn’t mean anything. Micha neared the studio and felt a little panic fill him. He made a quick choice to cross the street before reaching it. Micha felt himself shaking a little as he continued down the street keeping his eyes on the ground. He didn’t look up till he reached Grisha’s restaurant. It was still closed hit hour, but he went about the back. Micha entered it hearing Grisha and his wife in their office.

Smiling like an idiot, he tucked his phone away. The cab driver seemed to be paying more attention to him and didn't even ask about the amount of texts he was receiving. Samuel wanted to continue their conversation and ask what exactly Micha was up to today. Would he stay at home? Would he call the real estate office? These were just a couple of the burning questions he was going to have ask him later. He sat back in his seat, watching the scenes go by. Whatever Micha was doing, he hoped he was being safe. He didn't think he had it in him to go exploring much of New York on his own. He hoped he wouldn't be stupid enough to go back to his old studio. Unfortunately this was Micha they were talking about and he wasn't always an open book. Samuel sighed. Okay. Time to stop thinking about him. They were an ocean away and needed to be a little independent. The cab driver was still rambling about the sites and the city as they pulled up to the office. Paying his fair, he thanked the man and got out of the car.
The office building was rather impressive. With a modern look and mostly glass exterior. He walked up and through the automatic sliding doors, making a beeline for the front desk. He waited patiently while the two receptionists dealt with other people. His watch read 9:36. Plenty of time. About five minutes later he was called forward. Samuel gave his name and stated his business. In turn, he was given a visitors pass - that must be worn - along with a slip of paper detailing the directions to the office he was going to. Thanking the man, Samuel slipped the visitor's lanyard over his neck and started in the direction of the elevator. The building's lobby was wide, open, and packed with people coming in for the day. He thought about taking a picture to show Micha, but went against the urge. He didn't have time to gawk. He waited with the rest of the crowd for the next elevator. When it came, he was squished to the back against the wall and had to repeat three times what floor he was going to. If ever there was a time for his fear of elevators to start up, now was not it. Yet here he was, clinging to the railing behind him with atleast ten other people packed in with him.
Twelve stops later, he reached his floor. He squeezed past the five remaining people in the lift and followed the directions given to him. By the time he reached the office, it was exactly 9:55 A.M. He barely made. Samuel opened the door and stepped into the small waiting room. There were six chairs and one woman sitting behind a slightly worn desk. "Can I help you?" she asked in French. It took him a little longer than it probably should have for him to recognize the simple question. "I'm here to see Mr. Giles. My name is Samuel J. Davis." "Ah yes, Mr. Davis. You can go right in. Mr. Giles is expecting you." Nodding politely, he stepped away from the desk and across the room where he pushed open the door.
The office inside was just as lavish and modern as the rest of the building. The walls were lined with awards, diplomas, and paintings. The furniture was lush and looked as though it had barely been used. Behind the desk sat Nicolas Giles, a long time friend and business partner. The man was busy talking on the phone in rapid French, no doubt about his new business. When he noticed Samuel come in, he motioned him forward. Crossing the room, Samuel took a seat in front of the desk and waited patiently for the man to finish his call. In the meantime, he took out his prepared items and made himself at home in the office.

It was a little after noon when Avery finished up shopping. He still had a few more things he wanted but didn’t need. Avery had a bad habit of buying things he didn’t need. His closet was lined with clothes, or random things. Holding onto a few large along with small bags, he stood in the subway one again. He needed to drop some things off at home if he planned on going out again. Avery hadn’t eaten anything for breakfast, the least he could do was eat lunch.
Getting off the subway, he finally made it above ground, only dropping a bag or two along the way. Avery started back toward his loft. His phone was going off in his pocket but he ignored it. He already knew who it would be, just Jean checking up on him.
Fishing out his keys as he got to his loft, Avery set some bags on the ground. He quickly unlocked the door kicking it open. Avery grabbed his bags, as he went inside. He kicked the door behind him as he went upstairs to his bedroom. Avery threw the bags on the bed sighing a little. He really needed to stop this bad habit.
His stomach was growling as he left his loft again, heading down the street to a small bistro. Avery walked toward the street, as he pulled his phone out of his pocket. He saw Jean had sent about five text messages and left two voicemails. Avery didn’t bother checking them as he put his phone back into his pocket. Arriving at the bistro, he opened the door slipping inside. He found a seat in the middle as he took a seat grabbing the menu from the end of the table behind the salt and pepper shakers. Avery already knew he wanted but he wanted to see if there was anything new on the menu.

Samuel sat in the office waiting patiently while his old friend and colleague went about his own business. It wasn't unusual to wait in these types of meeting so he didn't mind. Fifteen minutes passed before the male finished. Setting down the phone, Nicolas sighed like that was the worst call he'd ever had in his entire life. Reaching across the desk, the male smiled at Samuel.Reaching over the desk, they shook hands. Nicolas spoke with a Dublin accent that refused to fade even after all his years in both America and France. The man didn't bother explaining about the phone call, instead simply apologized for his rudeness. Within minutes, they dived right in. For months the venue had been undergoing some renovations and getting some well needed, new interior decorating. Samuel was shown several pictures of what the place looked like and he had to admit, it was quite the turn around. He remembered when they started this project the venue looked like Studio 54 in its prime. Now, it was completely gutted. The floors had been redone, the stage upgraded, the bar was brought to the modern age, and the seating looked like something you would actually want to sit on.
For hours the men spoke of the opening show. The idea was simple. They were to open with a fashion show by some new and fabulous designer. Then, a round of speeches, a few drinks, bring in a famous DJ that is actually worth a damn, and pray the night was a success. It sounded simple enough. But the reality was, this was roughly a four to six hour event they were talking about. They were going to need caterer's, decorators, a DJ, and more. This night had to be perfect. They both had a lot of money riding on this event and a lot of sponsors wanting to show off their own line of products. There was a lot of advertising to be expected.
As they continued to talk, the morning shifted into the afternoon and they decided to break for lunch. Since Samuel had no idea where anything was, the two decided to head out somewhere together. Down the twelve floors again, Samuel walked along side his business partner as they talked in great detail about models and color schemes. It was a little nerdy, but he could feel himself already getting excited. As much as a pain in the a** that it was, he loved doing big events like this. In the end the hard work always paid off. He loved being able to sit back and watch the events unfold into something fun and exciting for all to enjoy.

The day had gone by pretty quickly, after a few more shopping trips. He arrived to find Jean already waiting. It was no surprise, but he could feel Jean silently judging him as he brought in his last load of bags. Throwing them on his bed, he quickly tore off his clothes as he went into the bathroom. Avery needed a quick shower before heading off to the club. Jean had booked him for the opening event at the fashion walk. He hoped at least he would be wearing something comfortable, last time he did something like this he wore something tight and restaining which was hard to walk in.
Leaving his loft, Jean drove him as usual. It was likely if he was left to his own ride he would never arrive. Pulling into the driveway, Jean parked in the back. He got out of the vehicle looking around a little. There were already cars lining the back area, and he would hear music playing softly from the club. He could only figure they were working on the sound check. Jean glanced at Avery as he got out of the vehicle. ”Hurry up, I don’t have all night.” He spoke growling with annoyance. Avery merely rolled his eyes as he followed him inside.
Immediately as he entered, he was shoved toward the makeup artist. He was something he both hated and loathed. Jean had left him to go mingle with the other managers as well as the owner. Wading through the club, he plucked a glass of champagne off a waiter's tray. He took a sip testing out the flavor, it wasn’t really up to his standards but he drank it anyways. Jean continued through the crowds, curious if there was anyone he knew there. A few people stood out but no one he wanted to talk to.

They exited the office building and walked down to a bustling restaurant. All the while talking and going over the details. The more they spoke, the more details he was given about tonight's event. It sounded amazing and he couldn't wait to see it all put together. Throughout the day he wondered, when was the last time he hosted such an event? It seemed like it had been ages. ever since he met Micha, he'd been paying less and less attention to his club and the needs of his business. It was almost like an out of body experience to being working like this again. When they finished eating, they went back to the office to grab a few things. It had been decided on their way back that they would go over and check out the preparations. They were literally hours away from getting things started. He returned his visitors pass and followed Nicolas out to the parking garage.
The club was in one of the more trendy districts of Paris. It was about twenty minutes from the office - and about forty from his hotel - by car. They parked in back and stepped out. The lot was near empty with only a few cars and one truck parked as well. Samuel followed Nicolas through the back door and down the hall. So far, it was pretty standard. White walls lined with a few photographs and work related posters, dull floors, and standard ceiling tiles. If anyone were to walk in from the back, they likely would want to just turn right around. But walking through the double doors was absolutely breath taking. The club was a bit messy as people were on ladders and setting things up. But from what he could see was amazing. The bar was sleek black, lined with neon blue lights. Behind the bar, the shelves of bottles were lit up in that same neon light. The stage was bright and currently flooded with lights. A DJ was on stage, testing her equipment and playing with the visions that played with her music.
While he stood there gawking, he was taped on his shoulder and led over to meet another group of people. A few of them he recognized. He had worked with these men before when promoting their new products. But the two others were strangers. The group shook hands, exchanged business cards, and introduced each other. There wasn't much to do at the moment, but plenty to see and listen to. Two of the men in the group took it upon themselves to express how anxious they were to see this all unfold. At the same time they spoke of how this felt like the millionth time going through with such an event. Samuel listened and laughed politely where need be. But as the day grew on, he was ready to just get things rolling.
The hours passed slowly with more talking, more meetings, and giving out orders. They were less than an hour away from opening. Everything was in place. The balloons were up, the buffet set, the bar stocked, the lights were perfect, and the DJ was going over her set one last time. Producers and stage hands were on stand-by as everything was tested. And one by one by one, the models came flocking in with their managers. There were a full staff backstage, anxiously going about their duties. Samuel stood off to the side with Nicolas and some of the managers. He smiled politely and sipped a glass of champagne as one managers felt the need to apologize for his lazy model. His eyes glanced towards the stations but had no idea who it was the man spoke of. There were a total of twenty models present this evening. Fourteen of them were female, the other six were male. And after an hour of mingling with them all, he really couldn't tell one from the other any longer.
