He did, Patton was a brilliant man, but what Rommel did with the resources he had suggests to me that, if they had been on equal footing, he would have come out victorious...

I had a dream last night, that I had an AO rated Wii game. It was like Warioware...only with sex.

*nod nod* Yeah, while patton was charismatic, I think the s**t on his boots was a tad less caked on than rommel. There's just something with that german that reminds me of Veers....

Brilliant Commander under idiotic political leadership. That does sound like Veers.

Germany really had some grade A commanders in that war. Heinz Guderian, Field Marshal von Rundstedt, Rommel, and hell... even Model has his moments.

We had Patton, Montgomery, and Bradley. All three of which had plans that would have or had resulted in disaster.

Patton: Advocated a direct assault on the Calais instead of Normandy... If you thought Omaha beach was bad... That would have been much worse.

Montgomery: Operation Market Garden (I shouldn't need to say any more).

Bradley: The Hurtgen Forest and the weakening of the Allied lines around the Ardennes.

Amazing how its only in briton and the US where Rommel is thusly lionized.
