"I don't like the taste," Tails said. "And it really hurts my belly."

"Sounds about right," Jules said, and sat down, feet in dipped in the spring. "When I turned Jolteon, it took me months to get over the way we canines hate pork. But I love bacon too much. You'll grow out of it, I bet."

"That'd be nice. I hate feeling like I'm gonna puke around sausage."

"Maaan, you gotta feel sorry for that kid," Jules mused.

"I don't have a problem with it." Tristen said, thinking back. He wondered for a moment why it wasn't a issue with him. He liked it as far back as he could remember. "Ah well." He then placed his Pokeball back within his pile of clothes nearby the spring. Knowing that he wasn't going to get caught up in a battle of any kind, he felt he didn't need to carry it around anymore for the moment.

"Well, just pull it open. That steam was so hot, I think the blood was seeping out when I got to it," Tails said. "The muscles will just pull right off. Careful for the veins and fat though."

"You know, wait a minute. I've got some carving tools back in my pack," Jules offered. "I learned survival skills when I was just a kid like you little guys."

Tristen stared in confusion. He learned a few things being back at the tribe himself. Only trick was, it was more leaned towards going without food for days on end. Obviously, it wasn't something that he missed. He looked back at Tails for a moment then back at Jules. "What are you going to do?"

"Lay out in the middle of the spring," Tails said, and shrugged. "I ate earlier. It's fine, Tristen."

Jules soon returned with his pack, and he had at least put his shorts on. He felt too indecent around the kids only in his underwear. "Alright, let's see that pig, huh?"

Tails handed over the Spoink with a nod, and Jules began to work -- slit the Spoink across one artery, and waited as the blood let out.

Tristen tilted his head then looked at Jules as he went to prepare the Spoink. "Do you do this often?" He asked Jules, curiously at that.

"Not unless I'm low on cash," Jules said. "But a roast like this, you just can't pass up. Most of the meat's on the rump on a Spoink, thanks to all the bouncing."

He sliced into it, and the blood flow was minimal -- Away from the spine, the meat was solid, but there were a few traces of cartilage. This could be gnawed around in a pinch. The smell was too much for Tails, however, and he swam out to the middle of the stream.

Tristen looked out towards Tails again then looked back at the meat. It looked so tender from where he stood, which was usually a good indication of it being real good. At least to him anyways.

"So kid. Tristen. You like fat on your pork?" Jules asked. He had set three slabs of meat between them, and that was all the Spoink would afford. He didn't know about Tristen, but Jules hated offal.

"It doesn't matter to me." He said. "I had it both ways, with and without. Either way is good. What about you?"

"I never liked fat. You can have it," Jules said, forking the more tender cuts to Tristen. He kept the leanest slice for himself. "So where're you two from, anyway? People around here don't let their kids go around naked, yanno."

"Hyda." He said. "And I'm just out of my clothes just for the spring. Really, I don't do this." He said, taking the slice and starting to chew on the tender piece. "Tails is from..." Then suddenly it hit him. He wondered what he should say now that he knew his story. Not knowing the land doesn't help either.

"Hyda...I think I've heard of it," Jules mused. "That largely unexplored region far south?"

"Unexplored?" Tristen asked. "Uh. I don't think its unexplored, there are a lot of people there..." He said, rubbing the back of his head.

"Well...I've never been there anyway," Jules said. "And you can't catch a ride from anywhere. Need a fork? Or are you fine with your hands?"
