The Lovely Revenant
❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊
It was another beautiful day in Soleil. An early morning, a good day to meet new people and live again, or at least..live in the sense of being out an about rather than stuck in a pine box. For one particular lady, living was was not a thing she did when one applied the true sense of the word to her. She lived only in some small understanding...and this hardly bothered her, or at least she never let it show if it did. Hitting the morning an elegant woman would appear in the streets, floating along the ground, a weightless specter in a following dress, followed by a blue bird filled with life and happiness. Eventually coming to rest on the bench the spirit would remove the harp from her back, and place it gently on her lap. The bird, setting its small form down on the edge of the bench, a happy chirp coming from its lips as it shook its body. It earned a smile from the pale beauty. From what Melpomene gathered, at least if the old man she had asked had told her correctly, she was downtown, a place many people tended to be when heading places. It was supposedly scary at night, but all Melpomene cared about was that people were here in the morning, and based on the sounds that was indeed true, the hustle and bustle of life. It was something she missed so greatly that she had to come here rather than sequester herself in a quiet shop all day. There was no reason she could not simply take a little extra time to herself before opening the shop, in order to make the mornings of others a little easier. She would go eventually, but for now she wished to play. Recalling a song she had heard some time yesterday from Lelwani watching things yesterday as she cooked a meal that no one would eat. She quite liked it, and very easily took to playing it on her harp which she hoped would ease and please the people just trying to get to work, or whatever else they might be doing. She began to play a nice Melody her fingers moving from string to string, a flawless dance. Her eyes remained closed as they always did as she played. Perhaps someone would recognize it, maybe not, it was enough that they hear it and feel more aware, more at ease. The bird cuddled into itself as it watched people, a tiny, flying guardian.

●▬▬ ILLIA ✯ TSUKIMI ▬▬● The sunset Witch
•••••♥••••••••••♥••••••••••♥•••••
The light morning breeze blew ever so softly in the downtown streets of Soleil, resonating with the lovely chatter heard from those who were around. Among the people, a young woman walked lonesomely down the streets, a content smile plastered to her face. Illia's morning had gone so wonderfully so far. She woke up to the serene sound of birds chirping, had a lovely breakfast of an omelet and she had received a call from her sister as well. The day was looking up, a perfect start to the new year as well. As the young woman began to appreciate the life she had, she had come across a beautiful melody that filled the air. The melody was familiar, one that the musically inclined Illia had come to learn and love as a child. Swayed by her own desire to find the source, Illia followed her ears.
Upon reaching the sounds loudest area, Illia lay her eyes upon a young woman. The woman herself was attractive, sticking out among the folk who walk by. Her eyes were closed and her face looked calm, but her frozen demeanor was interrupted by the swift playing of her hands. Illia smiled as she stopped in front of her, "That's a lovely song." she commented, hoping not to disturb the young girl.

Melpomone remained at peace as she played, her fingers never stopping as she heard the melody in her head, and the colors of the notes appearing clearly in her mind..forming pictures that she herself could enjoy. Some would complement her on her playing, others would simply walking by and saying nothing. Nothing seemed to disturb her, and when a voice spoke out not to far from her, the voice of a young woman the small her playing did not stop. She offered a smile to Illia and turned her head slightly to her left where the bird would suddenly snap to attention. It would fly over and dig under the woman dress for a moment before pulling out a small pouch, Forcing it open the bird would dig out a card holding it up to the red-headed woman with its beak. The card would have a single word on it that would say "Hello" something Lelwani being the smart little bird she was came up with and bought to get the easier questions out of the way The silent ghost continued to play, her closed eyes focused on the girl as she played .One might note that the sound her harp was making should be impossible in general for its type, but most without that sort of knowledge would just assume it was correct, rather than an ability to the spirit playing for them. The bird wold drop the card gently and go root around for yet another one this time with a question. It would ask the red-headed girl in the place of its owner "How are you?" hoping she did not mind.

The Lovely Revenant
❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊
Melpomone herself was always glad to have a chat with someone, no matter what it was she was doing. She had all the time in the world so long as the wonderful instrument in her arms remained unharmed and having someone to talk to was always wonderful. When she herself could not create the wonderful noise that came with words, it always delighted her to hear others do so. Her smile was even brighter as she realized the woman was paying more than a small complement and may have actually wished to chat. The bird dropped yet another card before retrieving another card that would tell the woman that the girl placing the harp was "Great!" the bird moved a bit in case the girl wished to sit before she continued on her way, though it did reach into Mel's dress to pull out her tag which would tell the girl that her name was "Melpomene Zamir." and while the bird had its own name, it was difficult to give it on its own. Melpomene's melody would chance soon as she reached the end of the song, but the movement was so seamless it was almost hard to tell they were two different melodies. A soothing tune to further ease the mind and soul, not outside of her range however as there was a sort of magic streaming off of her, a feeling in the area that might indeed improve ones mood and calm one down. It was easy to ignore and brush off of course, but difficult to simply ignore as if it wasn't there. The bird held up another card "What is your name sir / madam?" though the bird used one of its wings to point at the word madam. One might wonder how this bird could be bright enough to be so expressive, or how many cards it had in response to people. It could of course only be figured out through talking. It only had enough for basic talking, the rest would have to be Mel's limited ability in spelling the English language, and her constructs.

The Lovely Revenant
❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊
The bird was as prepared as it could be, pulling out what looked to be a cut up greeting card that had a rather regal "Thank you." on it, making sure it didn't flop open before putting it down. They had gotten as many cards as they could, but there was no doubt they would falter on some questions. Mel nodded the girl, happy to meet her too. She had a wonderful name, Mel did wonder where she was from but she didn't think they had a card for it, or if it would be rude. It would be a normal question in her day, but she was more or less confused about how most modern day people conducted themselves on matters like these. The complement to her playing was great, and adding an impromptu flourish to her playing she removed one hand from the harp to make a small gesture of thanks with her hands before she went back to playing instantly, though it was the next thing Illia said that somewhat caused her to stumble. Ending on a plucked string that rang out as she paused for a moment. A small smile came over her face as she began to play, but the sound of the harp had changed again. She would begin to play a new song and the area in front of them would become a scene of some sort, with more detailed figures, one that appeared to be a young girl in front of two adult figures who did not have faces. The young girl was playing an instrument that looked akin to a harp, though of older design. It looked at though the two adults were enjoying it, though eventually it would show a mistake, Though not portrayed in the music all that well and when they happened the girl would be admonished and start again. Fewer and fewer mistakes made each time the scene seemed to reset. The girl would get older and older until it looked more like Mel, but it seemed to stop at some point as she changed the melody again. What Mel had showed the girl was to answer her question that she had to learn herself with a little forcing from her parents to make sure she made no mistake, though she was unsure if the girl would understand it, hopefully it was clear. The bird had another card ready, a little longer than the others so it had some effort involved in getting it out of the bag. This one also was cut a little, but it opened it and said "I can teach you." with a picture of a cute little girl in a skirt, but it got its point across. Mel hoped the girl would not mind a slight falter in her playing for a second, she wasn't upset or anything, she just had to recall.

The Lovely Revenant
❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊
Mel nodded in regards to teaching her. She agreed that it would probably be a lot of fun. Mel was happy to teach the woman about the harp. Mel was musically gifted as well, but if there was one instrument she had always excelled it, it was the harp, or well anything like it. She stopped playing for a bit as her hands roamed her person. She knew she had a card with her address on it for people who wished to be taught. She had them for quite some time but never got to use them. It was weird to ask someone to come to your house to be taught perhaps, but it was the best way Mel figured. She would eventually find the pouch where she kept them and pulled out out, holding it out to Illia to take if she wanted to take it. Her house had a studio in it so it'd be great to practice in. Mel would adjust her harp, moving it closer for the girl to take. It was a small bit of trust, though this harp was her heart. It was clear by the colors of this girls voice that she meant no harm, and she would have no qualms with letting her try it.
The bird jumped up to the edge of the bench and let out a happy little chirp towards Illia.
The harp itself was wonderful though, well made, beautifully designed. It was something a royal player might own back in older days as it was lined with gold and even had a wonderful red gem in its bottom. It was clearly a musical treasure of some sort, and while it would not react too Illia the same way it did for Mel, it still created a beautiful sound close enough to a smaller celtic harp. It would be a little chilly since Mel was quite cold naturally.

Illia smiled excitedly as the girl gave her approval. She watched as she searched herself for an item, pulling out another card. Illia took it kindly, reading what it said. It was an address. It didn't take Illia long to realize why she was given an address, so she slipped it into her pocket and returned her gaze to Mel. She watched as Mel gently moved the harp closer to Illia, allowing her to take it. She had handled instruments before, but this one was so beautiful and perfect, she didn't want to break it. She cautiously took it into her own hands, mimicking the way Mel had been holding it previously. It was beautiful to the touch, smooth design with gold lining, perfect carvings and slick strings, and it felt cool and serene. Illia looked up at Mel, smiling as she awaited her next instruction.

The Musical Revenant
❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊♩❊
Mel gently reached towards the strings, placing a hand on the fifth, sixth, and seventh string, near the middle. Her hand posture was neutral, calm and relaxed and it would be wise for Illia's to be the same so as to prevent exhaustion and pain when playing, though she was working mostly from a human assumption in regards to such a thing. Now which hand the woman used would be her natural hand, though both would come into play, but Mel was not teaching her so much as to play, but rather how to handle a harp. Nightengale was a special harp and not really fit for real learning, even when one was musically gifted due to all of its strings being the same dark-blue coloration, making it difficult to differentiate between the chords.
Mel could not see Illia, so she was relying on the bird to tell her whether or not it looked right. Mel wasn't strict of course, she just wanted to make sure it was all satisfactory to Illia. She gently shifted and placed her hands on the strings of her harp. Her fingers were ready to move, but relaxed so that when they needed to they would flow just fine. She gently plucked a string to demonstrate the strength needed, not too hard, not too soft, at least three times she did this, plucking the three strings in the middle. The strings were placed finely and a single string produced a wonderful sound that calm the nerves.
She removed her hand and smiled at Illia, waiting to give her a moment to try and mimic it herself, several times if she wished. The bird was watching her hand to let her know if something was wrong with her hand posture, but the atmosphere was kept light. By now they had caught a few eyes, but Mel, while feeling that eyes were on her was good at ignoring them as he needed to focus on this small little lesson. Mel didn't intend to keep the woman of course, just let her get a small feel for a harp.
After a little bit of time it would seem Illia had to go. Mel was handed her harp and finding that activity had died. It seems they had been here for some time. She bowed to Illia as the bird came over to perch on her shoulder. Mel waved to Illia as she walked off. Mel had given Illia the card of the shop she worked at, and the times on her card for home would basically list her being available all the time when not at work.
They had a fun time, and while Mel could hardly speak she made sure to teach as well as she could and it was clear Illia had some musical talent. She hoped to see Ilia again one day. Once she was gone Mel figured she would be off to find something else, perhaps to clean the shop. [Exit]
