The bear didn't like that obviously and took to clawing at its back to try to dislodge the kodachi that was embedded in it. Seeing that the bear was somewhat distracted, Yves allowed himself to drop to the ground and headed over to kick the bear's side.

Now that the bear was on its side, Yves pulled the kodachi out of its back and smacked its hilt on the animal's head a few times in order to knock it out.

It was time to head back into the forest again after backtracking his way to the portal with the bear in tow to shove it into it.

Deciding that he would try another direction this time, it wasn't long till Yves came across yet another group of humans who had gathered around a fire to eat, drink and be merry. Paying no heed to them, he made his way quietly through the dense vegetation around them and pressed on.

As Yves made his way through the wilderness, he found himself thinking about the little Death Priestess Nereza and how she was still out wandering the wilderness all by herself. He really hoped that she didn't run into a bear and nothing untoward had happened to her. There was really no telling what else was out there.

If there was something that would allow him to track her down easily for situations such as this, Yves would spare no effort in making sure that he got his hands on it. For now however, all he could do was to keep at his task until he either ran into Nereza or found himself a human for Hunter-Killer.

Thinking that he heard some rustling coming from a nearby bush, Yves decided to investigate the source of it, stepping through the bush and into the clearing to find himself face to face with yet another bear.

There was no time to take to the safety of the air or put more distance between himself and the bear so Yves did the next best thing that was avail to him and that was to pick up a random rock from the ground and toss it at the bear to try to distract it.

Greatly displeased by what Yves did, the bear gave a loud roar and took a swipe at the horseman. Grunting at the claws that dug deep into his forearm, Yves immediately retaliated in kind by plunging his kodachi into the bear's belly.

The bear stumbled backwards a few times while Yves pressed forth to kick at its legs.

The bear fell over eventually, leaving its belly exposed which Yves took one look at then stepped forward to pull the kodachi out before stabbing its side again. Overwhelmed by the pain and blood loss, the bear passed out eventually, allowing Yves to drag it back to the portal to add to his tally.

Yves was starting to tire a little from all the walking that he had been doing. Just how hard can it be to find a human for Hunter-Killer in these parts really? He supposed that he could retrace his steps to the portal and try another spot, but that would mean leaving Nereza all by herself out here which wasn't entirely acceptable to him either. So how long exactly had he been out here now? An hour? Maybe two? Had he been wandering around in circles the entire time which could explain why he hadn't run into anyone or anything so far?

Just as he was about to give up and try to make his way back to the portal to attempt another route, Yves stepped through the vegetation and found himself at what appeared to be an abandoned building. Hmph. Perhaps he would have better luck finding himself a human here since they didn't tolerate the great outdoors very well without some sort of shelter over their heads. He made his way across the waterlogged ground, intent on checking out the building when he saw something red flash briefly in his field of vision.

Wait a minute. What was tha...

He quickly leapt back when the first shot came though he was evidently a split second too late when the bullet grazed his cheek. Guns. To hell with this. There was no way he was going to make it to the building if he didn't know who or what he was up against. He turned tail and ran as fast as he could from the scene.

With how fast he had been running, Yves wouldn't be surprised if he lost his way and had difficulty finding his way back to the portal subsequently. Luckily for him however, whatever direction that he ran in had him coming across a paved path that led him to the lavatory.

Recognizing what the place was for given his recent experience in the Dream world in which he thought himself a hunter (of all the dastardly things that he could be), he headed for the men's washroom, holding his breath and bracing himself for the worst with the stench that came from it.

The sanitary level of the lavatory was dismal. Yves shook his head a few times at the state that it was in the moment he stepped into it. Jeez. When was the last time that the humans bothered to clean it? Did they even know where to aim when they took a piss? How was it that the smell of urine was everywhere?

He didn't even know if he ought to consider himself lucky or not when he found a lone human in the lavatory, standing at one of the urinals and in the midst of zipping up his pants. Deciding that he might as well get things over and done with as quickly as possible because who knows when he would come across another human in this desolate wilderness, Yves went up to the man who still had his back to him.

It was the perfect opportunity. A quick twist of his head... whoa... wait a minute. Wrong train of thought there. Hunter-Killer needed these humans to be alive.

He stopped himself just as his hands were about to grasp the unsuspecting human's head from behind. Sheesh. This was turning out to be even more difficult to pull off than he thought.

"... what the..? What's the meaning of this?" The human exclaimed in surprise as soon as he took a step back and realized that Yves was standing behind him. No time to waste now. If he didn't act soon, the advantage that came with the element of surprise would be squandered and the human could very well escape from him, leaving the horseman empty handed yet again.

"Nothing..." Yves gave a wry smile as he lunged forward to pin the human against the wall, his hands moving quickly to pull his head back and smash it against the wall a few times until the human lost consciousness eventually. With the deed done and the human slumped lifelessly on the lavatory floor, Yves took a step back with a sigh. And that was when he took a deep breath and regretted doing that the next instant when the malodorous odour of the lavatory permeated his senses, resulting in him retching and dry heaving as he dragged the human out of the lavatory lest he too passed out from the stench itself.

Ugh. That was absolutely disgusting. Never ever again. He grumbled to himself as he started finding his way back to the portal with the human in tow as soon as he started to feel somewhat better. He was going to have himself a long soak in the hot springs to get all that stench out as soon as he got back to the tower.

Clansnotmen. Ugh. What a flattering way to refer to the fairer gender among them. Wan Ru sighed to herself with another roll of her eyes. Turning back to the noble Thiên whom she was in the company of, she gave the other horseman a bow and took her leave so that she could begin to address the task at hand. "Perhaps I'll see you around later then Thiên."

Stepping through the portal and into a puddle of muddy water, Wan Ru frowned as she gave another sigh at how things were turning out so far. A rainforest. Her beautifully embroidered shoes and silk dress wouldn't last for long against the elements out here. Now all of this would have been fine with her if it was for someone refined like Thiên, or that Famine horseman Jinan who could go on and on about the bugs that he loved so much. Compared to the both of them, Hunter-Killer was unimpressive and a total idiot.

After wandering through the forest for a very long time all upset that everything she had on her right now was going to be ruined, Wan Ru stopped when she chanced upon a very large building. This certainly looked like the kind of place where she could find herself a human or two to bring back to the portal. She thought to herself as she happily began to walk right up to the building to see if she could find a way in.

Five steps later and about midway between the rainforest and the building itself, there was the sound of gunfire followed by a searing hot sensation on her forearm where the bullet had grazed it. Tch. Seems like she had no choice but to beat a hasty escape. Which was exactly what Wan Ru did before she incurred more injury from the subsequent shots that were fired her way.

That was close. Too close. Anyone who saw how pathetic she looked, fleeing with her tail between her legs like that would certainly laugh at her. Wan Ru glowered quietly to herself when she was finally able to stop for a moment to catch her breath.

Anyways moving on, she didn't have to venture too far this time until she came across a paved path that led her to a little building. But ew... what was that stench? It almost smelled like the quarters of some of the Famine horsemen. Could this be one of their lairs?

Stepping quickly into the first door she saw, she stopped when she saw a lone human male in the lavatory. "... um... you're on the wrong side Miss. The female washroom's the other way."
