Some hate the other because they think that they are copying the one they like. But Digimon is aimed towards an older audiance than pokemon is and they have different plots. One difference between the two is in Digimon their adventures made them become more mature where as on pokemon I turn it on and it feels like they havent grown at all.

Digimon and Pokemon are just two different shows. And digimon is humans in the real world, going to another world where there are digital monsters. And Pokemon is they are in a completely different world and pokemon replace animals.
