Basically its a long handle with soem kind of loop at one end and a lightsaber emitter on the other.

Yeah, useful against farther away opponents, I guess, but almost useless in close quarters. I'd rather just have a normal lightsaber, and rely on Blaster deflection and force powers for farther away foes.

Thats why you have a breakoff ability with it. Such as if I had a jedi with a double vougle, if needed it could just become two single sabers.

Perhaps, as Nelo said before, a single blade is the way to go.

Yeah, a single blade is just more practical, in so many ways.

Well, one pro to a dual saber style that I found in the Jedi Academy game was that if you had a dual saber style, you could throw one at a far away foe, and use the other to block blaster shots from said foe. Very useful against flying enemies.

Flying enemies are annoying.
In such instances, a Repeating blaster is often your best friend, provided you know how to lead your shots.

Yep, but most Jedi have some weird, anti-blaster policy.

Its an honor thing.
Any idiot can kill someone with a blaster, but it takes focus and skill to use a lightsaber.
Its as much a mark of their station as it is a weapon.

Yep, that's true, but if I were a Jedi, I'd carry a hold-out blaster on my person for if someone managed to take away my saber. No one would expect me to have another weapon, and I wouldn't be unarmed.
