The problem with Link is that he is hard to contact. He does not have a comlink number that you can reach him by, and he usually dwells in the most a** backwards locations of planets to avoid detection.
He's hard to locate becase the Sith will hunt him down in numbers and kill him if the find him, so he must stay under the radar.
Nor is he a mercenary. The idea to sell his combat skill would probably offend him.

Now, refresh my memory. Who is Kathleen?

Well the Sith that owned the fortress Link is currently in led the Droid war.
He had reactivated countless separatist droids across the galaxy to attack the New Republic.
If you could find some of that Droid Technology, it might be worth it. That and there might be some remaining Dark Side relics that could prove useful in the ruins.

Link is there for his own reasons. He wants nothing to do with whatever possesions the Sith might have kept.
I'm saying that if Kathleen is looking for things to aid you, an old Sith Warlord's structure might be worth picking over. The Native Geonotians fear the place is haunted and so havent touched it.
