ew, oils. I work in chalk when I have to get large-scale. Paint.. not my best medium. I try, but... it's really ugh.

DoomNeko That's like french classes for me. EVERY teacher thought it differently, and to boot nothing we learned ever was useful in the final exams, so we only survived if we had an ounce of logical reasoning and "Savoir-faire". XP
But yeah, that sucks. File a complaint or something, I mean, it IS absolutely mind-numbingly stupid how they're trying to make you do advanced painting in Oils without even as much as a transitional course when you didn't get a choice to use Acrylics in Painting I. I'm going in first thing in the morning to see about getting out of the class. Even more than the fact I have no experience in Oil, I don't like the teacher at all. I can't respect an artist that completely trashes a media because it frustrated him. Acrylic and Oil both have advantages and disadvantages. Don't go telling me my paintings are sucky because you don't like the media. rolleyes I knew in the first sentence I wasn't going to like him. He asked if anyone was there to try and add (two people were) and he said, I don't add. He did that even though two people didn't show up. At my school if you don't show the first day you are automaticly dropped. This is a teacher I can tell I don't like.

Manda_Tifa Wow, Kris...I feel for you. I guess the best thing to do at this point is just to read up on oils and the proper care for your brushes and such and just experiment on smaller canvases until you can paint on the big one. I know it's a lot since you have to use the semester to paint your masterpiece, not experiment, but I dunno what else to tell you. Maybe you and the others who have no oil experience can make a little "oil paint study group"? The problem is there just isn't time. I have three other indepth classes so I don't have time to spend hours trying to research oil painting on my own. I didn't go into painting II so I can teach myself how to paint. If I wanted to do that I wouldn't be taking the class. I also don't have time to play around with other little paintings. In a normal class setting the teacher would probably go over tons of lectures on the usage of oil. Many of the chemicals you use are very toxic and you can get very sick if you don't know what your doing.

DoomNeko Kakarotto-san -_-..there are some people in my life who contuine to make it miserable. I think I'm going to go draw some dark, angtsy, moody, maybe even violent s**t mood art now. I need to get some stress off. Plus, there's some guy who keeps complaining about the pose I used in his damn commission when I drew what he told me to draw and sent references of. -_____-

Hope the "dark arts" helps you feel better about life's crap and morons. :3I just showed him the pencil sketch which I have part of it shaded in since it is a pencil piece. It pisses me off that he's complaining about the pose (which I based off the reference pictures he gave me) and oh now the damn gyphon's back length.. "It's too short..like a human's not a lion's" Gyphons don't exist...meaning I have leeway on the design for a creature that doesn't exist and isn't real. It boggles my mind that I get fussed at for doing what I am told to do and saying I'm doing it wrong.. P.S. Gaia needs to fix the layering so that belts show up. Belt on my avatar should look like this..(but I guess Tektek's layering is different..>_>)

I'm back online. It turns out my father hadn't hadn't paid the bill, he forgot to change the payment details, a mistake anyone can make. So I'm back online again, but you won't see me much tomorrow (except for on Gaia) unless I can get certian things to work. I'll let you guys know.

A Sakiimi Weekley Update heart
arg. College is such a juggling act. Friends in one hand, work in the other, love being the one tha's always dropped lol. Man is it difficult to do things around here... I mean it's so simple yet so very complex.
I'm pretty sure all the guys I like still have girlfriends.... which kinda sucks... And then noone else approaches me so far. It's sorta like highschool only the people are a tad bit friendlyer... a tad bit.
I've only had one class so far, it was 6 hours long. *_* And I have a class today from 4 to 10 pm ... which also sucks pretty bad. sad On the bright side though I don't have to take writing class because I tested out of it. smile
I have about 5 friends... maybe six... three of which are boys that are really nice. They all have the girlfriends though... so I have to settle with being friends with them : it sucks too because I have to listen to them talk about other girls in front of me... makes me feel a little undesierable. : Maybe I'm intemidating. lol
my roommates are all nice, though it seems like only 3 out of the 4 of us really get along. (Oh! and one of the guys I really like was involved with oone of my roommates a long time ago but there's still some issues about it which makes me want to shy away from him) The other roomie is always gone.
Basicly that's it... I'm gonna take a shower and walk down to the financial aid office and get my job placement.

Well I just got back from talking to my advisor, and was basicly told, "Oh wow, your screwed, but I'm sure you'll be fine." So I'm stuck with the course. All I know is the teacher better be willing to teach me, because I'm not spend any more time working in the class than anyone else. It's not my job to learn Oil on the side. rolleyes

And when I heard the whistle I knew I had been chosen...
Finally got a job today. It's at giant eagle,s o it's not that high of pay or antyhing special, but hey, it's a job, it'll get me money, I'm happy. Plus, I dont' pay rent or utilties here in the apartment since it's covered in my tuition, so it's not like it's gonna hurt me that much (only bill I pay is my cable/internet). I start next tuesday, so starting then you'll see me on a hell of a lot less then I am now =)
...to be the one who decides who goes next.
