Aló! Me llamo Rose, o Rosie. Hablo Español un poco, pero no entiendo mucho. Soy de California, en Estados Unidos.

Hello! My name is Rose, or Rosie. I speak Spanish a little, but I don't understand much. I'm from California (the one in the United States, not Baja). I understand Spanish much better when it's written rather than spoken. My native language is English, and I've studied French, German, and Latin and Greek etymology. I used to do a lot of spelling bees, so I'm really into words. I love writing and music. I'm a voice student, junior in high school (concurrently enrolled in community college), and currently a graphic designer. As you can see, I'm not nearly as good at Spanish as I am at English. I've been using Livemocha to brush up on things. So far I can say what color a car is, and tell someone what color it isn't. I don't know when I'd have to use that except with a color blind person, but I can say it anyway. I think the color for orange (anaranjado) is waaaaay tooooo loooooong. I have friends in Tijuana that are very very nice, and pretty much every Mexican I've met is the same way. I think their culture is much warmer than the anglo-american one. I always get hugs when I go there.

Anyway, I look forward to learning with all of you!
