The portals not closing certainly did not seem in their best interest, especially when the green of the vines began to twist their way through making everything feel just a little wrong. (This was a little familiar and not welcoming at all).

But Waits felt there wasn't much he could do in his pathetic condition if there was a chance he felt the desire to do anything - mayhaps, that pile of humans did seem like they needed a little bit of compiling to places elsewhere. But alas, he was just a heap as usual.

Torgus merely groaned and curled into a ball.

Before Shaheen knew what was going on, all hell broke loose. There were a few moments of confusion, where she frowned, looking at the portals, how they warped and became sickly in color, and how from out of them oddities began to spawn.

"What in all of the unholy..." She growled, fingers closing around the hilt of her sword as it appeared in her hand and gripping it tight, her teeth clenching.

Vines, things that were almost human but not quite, and a strange tree.

Her eyes narrowed on the very latter, and she marched towards it, slashing with first her short sword but following up with a stab from her insanity blade, her lip pulled back from her teeth.

Whatever it was (because it was like no real tree she had ever seen), she seemed to have done enough to "kill" it, as it began to wither, no longer a threat.

If a tree ever really was a threat. It had appeared threatening.

In the end, Yves had found Nereza a little ways from the portal while he was making his way back with the human he had knocked out in the lavatory. After shoving the human into the portal, he had retraced his steps to help the little Death horseman with the human she had with her, finally allowing himself a small smile at the knowledge that she was safely returned to his side and the both of them could return to the tower that was their home now that they had completed their task.

"Are you alright? I was beginning to wonder if the wilderness had swallowed you up or something worse..." He began to fuss over her in a muted tone as soon as the both of them were back at the tower. He would have given Nereza a thorough look over to make sure that she wasn't injured or anything. But he found his attention drawn to the humanoid shapes that suddenly started to emerge from the portal. Misshapen forms that had green eyes and bore glowing red weapons. He growled at the unexpected intrusion, quickly moving to put himself directly between them and Nereza.

"... s**t. How did these things get in here?"

"What's the meaning of all this commo-" The Conquest mare's words were cut off as three snakes slithered onto her. They were trying to escape the sudden outbreak of violence. She looked ahead and saw mobs of detestable creatures. "Oh, so this is why you are clinging to me. Those creatures bring back unpleasant memories. They shall be dealt with!" Sanjiva moved the trophy serpents out of harm's way. She was struck in the back of her skull as she did. She stumbled before turning with hate in her eyes. She cursed at the nearest mob in a daze, "It's not over yet!"

He stood in the middle of chaos, silently surveying the battle, a long, red tipped spear held in one hand. Thiên's gaze flickered up towards the thing that had spawned in front of them, hearing the shouts and the swish of displaced air from the Horsemen around him as they swung their weapons.

Calmly, he appraised what to do, hefted the spear, and threw.

Thiên retrieved his spear, then swung it around again to try and stab the creature - eyes narrowing ever so slightly.

This was a lot more intimidating than snakes. Mengyao made an annoyed sound in the back of his throat, the bow already ready in his hands as he swung it around, drawing back the string, eyes fixing on his target. He studiously ignored the War Horseman - or whoever he was -
that was currently rolling around on the ground.

It was slow going. Mengyao yanked a little too hard on the bowstring.

The War Horseman was still lying on the ground.

Mengyao heaved an enormous sigh, turned from what he was doing, and shot him.

Gently. He had no idea if it would help or not, but someone had mentioned that they were all supposed to be fighting, and he thought it might be helpful to motivate people who weren't.

And besides that, he kind of just had an urge to shoot someone. How strange.

"Bad Seeds..." The term the girl used left Ollie thoughtful, considering for a very long moment before he followed her strange human through the portal and back into a right mess. For a moment he was just puzzled, his eyebrows pulling together as he turned in place, searching the surrounding crowd to figure out what was going on.

His eyes immediately settled on one attacker in particular: the creature seemingly incomplete. Usually humans had two arms, two legs...one head....

As it went for a nearby Elder, Ollie sucked a breath between his teeth and stepped in to attack in earnest.
