"I'm okay," Tails said, and he went into the kitchen with the others. Pancakes. Pancakes were nice, but if he tried to eat some with hot chocolate, he'd just throw up. It would be quite the opposite of fun. When he sat at the table, it was gingerly so that he did not bump his bad hand.

TerashiLeonGoken "That would be a good way to go about it," I nodded as I dressed this pancake with appropriate portions of butter and syurp (well, maybe a bit more syrup than was appropriate). "Plus, it would be nice to have more type coverage against the weaknesses of whoever we end up battling." Odd and Lykas both nodded. "Just look at us. I have a fairly even balance of Pokemon, myself. And Lykas specializes in Water types but he carries an Electric- and Fire-type on him pretty much all the time, along with his Kirlia, who covers a lot of types with the kinds of attacks he can learn." Odd provided. "Speaking of, I don't think you've had the chance to really meet any of our Pokemon, have you?" Lykas asked as he cut a piece off of his pancake and shoved it into his mouth. He was anything but a graceful eater, really.

It would be quite the opposite of fun. When he sat at the table, it was gingerly so that he did not bump his bad hand. After a short bit, I had plenty to pass out. A mug to Tails, and then to Tristen, finally to myself. "Enjoy you two." I said.

I carved a piece of my pancake once I was satisfied with the dressing and politely placed it in my mouth. Delicious pancake~
"I've met a few of Odd's friends back in Unova, but... no, I don't think I've met yours," I told Lykas.
I kept my opinions about type specialists to myself.

Tails took the mug and raised it to a toast. "To...!" A pause. He hadn't properly thought this through. "Um... To the selflessness of old spirits," he finally said.

"Ah, so he can't resist showing off those ghosts of his, eh?" Lykas joked at Odd's expense. "Well, I can't say my Pokemon are as...eh....suited as his for stealth, but my Pokemon certainly have grace and beauty on their side." He admitted, thinking mostly of Mykel, Sphynx and especially Nuregami. The gorgeous Milotic was his prized Pokemon.

"It's more like helping than showing off. Kinda needed some training, and he was there, so..." I said before taking in another bite.

"Ah, I see." Lykas responded before turning his focus to Odd. "How's she liking the food?" He asked of the older boy.
"She seems to be eating it but we'll need to find her a better food source." Odd responded. "Frillish aren't really carnivores despite what the PokeDex might say about them. Most of the Ghosts in Unova thrive on life energy rather than physical food. Most of the time, they can simply absorb it from local wildlife but Frillish have to catch their prey and drag it down to their lairs to drain them."
"There you go with all that information on Ghosts again." Lykas teased. "I still don't know how to learned so much about them without being able to read." The younger teen added without a thought. It was only after he stuck another piece of pancake into his mouth that he realized what he'd said. He swallowed hard and gave Odd, who had suddenly grown a somber look on his face, a look of sorrow and regret. "Sorry......"

I ate quietly as Odd explained a great deal about Ghost-type Pokemon that I didn't really want to know. Bad enough I have my memory of Lavender Town haunting me...
...wait, what? Odd doesn't know how to read? I shot him a confused glance, but quickly regretted it and turned back to my food. Looks like there's a good reason for that.

"Sorry....." Lykas repeated as he finished his food, sounding upset more with himself than anything. How could he have forgotten Odd didn't like people knowing about his Dyslexia?
"It's alright, Lykas." Odd replied after taking a deep breath. "I'm sure he would've figured it out eventually. I'm pretty sure most of the team already knows." The young man spoke up, turning to look at Terashi, his red eyes showing the heartache behind it. "I'm Dyslexic, Terashi. I never learned how to read because of it." He explained, looking up at the ceiling, as if doing so would bring understanding.
Lykas nodded quietly and put his plate in the sink, now done with his food.

Trigramatic Tails took the mug and raised it to a toast. "To...!" A pause. He hadn't properly thought this through. "Um... To the selflessness of old spirits," he finally said. "Here here..." I said. That really couldn't be more needed actually, thinking on it. I wasn't sure if the Pokemon in Hinterbane knew that it would have turned out this way. For that matter, if it knew that it would perish from being broke in two by Celcius years ago. I still felt a bit bad that I didn't even know that it was an Artifact until long after the fact...a bit upsetting. I owed quite a bit...I didn't even know what Pokemon inhabited Hinterbane, for that matter...ugh. It was grading... I silently took a sip of my chocolate, when everyone else did.

So, that's why, I thought. Then it's not his fault, right?
"It's..." I was about to say it's none of my business, but that would have been cold-hearted at this point. "It's alright, Odd. Being Dyslexic isn't something you control, and it's certainly nothing you should be judged for."
With that point made, I continued eating. I was about halfway done at this point, savoring every bite.

Odd shrugged. "No, it is my fault. I never even tried. I know there are a lot of people who would've struggled through it to prove they could but I wasn't one of them." He seemed more ashamed of himself for not trying than of his condition.
"The thing is, I don't think it's the lack of trying that stopped you. I think you've been scared of trying and failing." Lykas provided as he walked over to Odd and sat down beside him.

"Fear of failure is rational, Odd," I told him. "But as the saying goes, it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."
"...wott," Samurai said flatly.
"...yeah, I know it's the wrong analogy," I said to everyone in the room. "My point is, if you never try, you'll never know what you're capable of."
...yeah, I was one to talk.

Tails breathed a flame on the bottom of the mug until it was boiling again, then took a swig. His ears, once perked, drooped against the sides of his head. "Paradiiiise."
