Trigramatic Tails breathed a flame on the bottom of the mug until it was boiling again, then took a swig. His ears, once perked, drooped against the sides of his head. "Paradiiiise." Tristen took a deep sip of his hot chocolate then slumped in his chair. He was feeling quite content too. "Blizz? Tails?" Tristen spoke up. "Yes, Tristen?"

TerashiLeonGoken "Fear of failure is rational, Odd," I told him. "But as the saying goes, it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." "...wott," Samurai said flatly. "...yeah, I know it's the wrong analogy," I said to everyone in the room. "My point is, if you never try, you'll never know what you're capable of." ...yeah, I was one to talk. ".............." Odd thought about what Terashi said for a few minutes before he spoke, trying to figure out what would be the best response. "Maybe you're right." He finally settled on. "But how would I try? Lykas has tried teaching me but going one letter at a time doesn't work. They all look fine until they're in words." He admitted. "And then the words just seem to scramble." "Odd's Dyslexia is peculiar. Rather than 'reversing' letters and numbers he reads syllables inversed." Lykas tried explaining. "It's difficult to teach him how to put the syllables in the right order without first teaching him how to spell. But the english language is so vast that teaching him is an extremely slow process." It was true. He'd been trying for months and so far, the only word Odd had managed to get right was "Spaghetti" rather than "Pasketti".

"Yeeees, Tristen?" said Tails, leaning over his drink.

Trigramatic "Yeeees, Tristen?" said Tails, leaning over his drink. "Am I doing any good with my training?" Tristen asked. He honestly wanted to know. Either that or its his soon-to-be completely drunken stupor starting to not give a care either way.

I sighed. That wasn't exactly the news I was expecting, let alone hoping to hear. "I don't know what to tell you," I said regretfully. "Never heard of that before." I put my fork down to contemplate the problem, but had no luck.

"You're able to control your body enough to produce acute affects," Tails said. I might have raw speed, but you could have killer reflexes. Like, if you had a ceramic cup, you could catch every fireball I spit at you. If I was -trying- to hit you at that."

"Well, other to show that you can, say there's a fire guy that's attacking you, me and Blizz and he figures out that you're the only one he can hurt," Tails explained. "I mean, I guess that'd mean you'd have to carry that cup around all the time but it's really non-conductive."
Another sip, then a sigh. "Mmm. Anyway, it was just an example. I guess if you got really fast, you could dodge -me- if you found yourself between me and a fun looking mud pit."

"It's fairly common among Dyslexic primary school students, believe it or not." Lykas explained, having had to do some reading up on it, himself. "Put simply, Odd's reading ability is roughly the same as a third grader's. He can read certain words and phrases but most of the time, they get mixed up along the way to his mouth, particularly when reading out loud."
"See what I mean?" Odd asked as he leaned back in his chair. "I can speak fine, learning words from listening but trying to read them is a joke right now."

I nodded after picking the fork back up and getting back to my meal. It was close to finished by now, so I took my time on it.
"Well, I hope you get some luck in that area," I said after swallowing. "Anyway, what kind of Pokemon did you say you had, Lykas?"

"Thanks." Odd was truly thankful for Terashi's well-wishes. It was more than he'd gotten in a long time that he didn't feel was pity.
"Oh! That's right! I was going to introduce you to my team." Lykas realized as Terashi finished his meal. "Well....I specialize in Water-types but I have several different types of Pokemon. I think my most prized ones are my Kirlia, Luxray, Quilava and Milotic. My Milotic is a true beauty who outshines most, if not all of it's species." He admitted, not realizing quite how much praise he was giving to Nuregami.

"A Milotic, huh?" I asked after I finished the last bite. "That must've taken a long time to raise. I'll bet you're very proud of it."
I stood up and took my plate with me, putting it in the dishwasher along with the fork and butterknife I used. "Hmm... I'd better feed Samurai and Sunny before I leave... do we keep any Pokemon food around?"

He's hoping that will come along soon. "At any rate, you're coming along just fine, Tristen. You've got a steady pace going between Pokemon Training and your own skills, which is not bad at all." I told him. "This is a lot better than dealing with the tribe...all they did was make you work harder if you did something right or yell at you and hit you a lot when you didn't do things right." he said. "They expected you to do it right the first time. They always kept saying there may not be that second chance later, which, maybe they're right, but. That. Shouldn't be a reason to do what they done." He said. "No...it isn't." I said.

tl;dr, I fed Sunny and Samurai and left Lykas and Odd to their own affairs.
Later that day... well, I should have checked out that Mission Locker Odd mentioned, but I didn't get around to it. Anyway, I found myself meddling with the SNAG's features again when suddenly, something I wasn't expecting happened.
"I say, would you leave that alone, you meddlesome boy? You could buy an artificial intelligence a drink first, for crying out loud."
I stared at the SNAG for a few minutes, but it didn't make another sound, so I assumed I was hearing things.
According to the jolt of electricity I got when I resumed my exploration of the SNAG, I was wrong.
"I said LEAVE. THAT. ALONE. If you are too stupid to understand the words that are coming out of my non-existent mouth, I shall have to teach you with brute force."
"Sorry, I..." I blurted out immediately. "...I thought I was just hearing things-"
"Oh, you were hearing something alright - ME! Now, does my camera deceive me, or are you the unauthorized personnel from yesterday? How did you get in here?"
"Sub let me in," I told him... or her. Or it, I had no idea. "I'm a member of Team Snagem, so don't go switching on any alarms."
"Switching on alarms, how tempting a thought that is," it teased me. "Now then, state your na-oh, nevermind, I have your files... or file, rather, right here. Terashi Toumei, born nineteen years ago in Castelia city, Trainer ID 02385... graduate of Pokemon Tech, what a prestigious honor. One would think that a graduate of that academy would have some knowledge of artificial intelligences."
"Yeah, I messed up. How many apologies do you want out of me." I said in a huff.
"Oh, I've heard quite enough of your annoying human voice, I assure you," was it's retort. "Oh, my. Fresh out of the academy only to lose to the Striation City Gym Leader? Were we not paying attention in cla-"
I shut off my SNAG and crossed my arms. Boring conversation, anyway.

DignityPower Spirit floated back to Veronica as she nodded with pleasure at the camper, "Thanks for the note!" she smiled and turned around. "Well done, Spirit, return for now." Veronica returned her pokemon and strolled towards Brock with a sigh of uncertainty. I guess... no, it doesn't matter how risky that was, I'll win. Her eyes adverted away from Brock's face. She gritted her teeth for a moment. Snap out of it. She told herself and then bravely stepped up to him. "I challenge you to a battle." "Welcome challenger, I, Brock, the Rock-Solid Pokemon Trainer accept your challenge! Can you crack my rock-solid willpower? Let's find out. Come on out, Graveler!" Brock shouted as he tossed a Pokeball into the air. The ball popped open in midair, releasing the four armed Rock Pokemon from within as it hit the ground with a very loud thud. "Graveler!" The Pokemon would shout as it stared down Veronica.
