last time someone made fun of me being a gothic i kinda killed there cat and gave the head to my dog.... and since then no one ever has messed with me from that point in time.

i suppose some people think Goths to be dangerous and even more disturbing than.....theoretically normal.

That is, because people make no effort to get to know goths before judging them, and callin them satan worshipers, and such... it is true though that people should worry more about the normal than goths exclaim

If you need a martial art to take, I would reccommend Aikido. It's based on the ancient samurai forms, and teaches more often than not how to take on and defeat multiple opponents at once without killing or seriously harming them.

If you're less of a pacifist, I reccommend a good solid fighting dirk.

I don't think that 'tolerance' is the answer. tolerating something means you simply accept that it is there. What I think is important is education. People are not educated on what we are about, or indeed what the music is about, and in knowing what it is that makes us attracted to this subculture, they might begin to accept it.
