Skill points are something important to save, so you rush headfirst into battle, managing to get a surprise attack on the thing as well as having your lucky animal friend do a nice chunk of damage as well; getting rid of that pesky shell that was protecting it. Trying to stay behind it and out of it’s attack range, you deliver attack after attack, though they are barely putting a dent in the monster’s health. Failing to dodge on of it’s attacks, you find yourself at bellow half health, knowing that another attack will finish you, you chose to…

Not one to back down, you attempt to attack the Gaze Knights. You start off fairing mildly well, but they manage to get the upper hand and back you into a corner and make quick work of finishing you off. Deciding that you hadn’t lost anything, you just restart the game when the Game Over screen pops up.

You decide that these monsters are too strong for you, and that you rather defeat the boss monster first and get that rare item that is rumored to be here, so you leave and head back across the field. On your way, you find a lucky animal that will offer you assistance in the next five battles. Coming to stop behind the boss monster you…

Three monsters may be a little tricky, but you’ve fought Face Bugs before on solo missions and you know that you can win against them. Getting the surprise attack is the first thing you do, and then you keep on with a pressing offensive. Between your physical attacks and cast spells, along with use of Rengeki, the face bugs soon fall and you not only gain the item in the treasure chest but a level as well. Your prize from the chest is a powerful armor piece that you will be able to use in one more level.

You attempt to hide and listen to the conversation, but something strikes you as odd. Your screen isn’t displaying text, but rather you feel as if you are hearing the conversation as though in real life; they being distant enough to hear, but only catch bits and pieces. You hear something about The World, something else about mother. Another few words brings up something called ‘the phases’, while yet more brings up ‘the heart’. Suddenly the speaking stops altogether and you find that the two figures are looking at the exact spot where you’re hiding. You…

Walking forward, you try to approach the two figures, though as you get closer you note that you’ve never seen character models like theirs before. The girl in white looks almost like an NPC, while the guy standing with her looks zombie-ish. The male rolls his eyes and head towards you before holding out his right arm; an odd glow to it. You…

You approach the lone figure standing up by the alter of the cathedral, though as you get closer to him you notice that he looks like a modified character. At the same time, the male character notices you and lifts his right arm towards you; an odd glow about it. A gut instinct tells you that something isn’t right with this situation. Before you can act on that feeling, something impacts with your chest and sends you flying backwards. Though you didn’t see it, your sure that as your display turns to static that the blast had come from that strange character. Sighing at being PKed, you go to remove your M2D. Only to find that it wont come off.

Standing there in the doorway, you watch the lone figure stand there for a long while, seemingly just staring at the place where you saw the white shimmer only a moment before. Just as you are about to walk in to talk to the other player, you watch as his body turns into a blue flame orb and floats away, seemingly just phasing through the wall of the cathedral. Running up to where he stood, you look around thinking that you were just seeing things, but then your attention is drawn to an odd looking item lying where the man had been standing.

Go to number 50 to pick up the item.

Taking out a talisman, you use The Hanged Man spell, effectively paralyzing the monster so that it can’t attack or move. Once that has happened, you continue to attack it, using your hold attacks and Rengeki moves more frequently now. Having to recast the spell a few minutes later is enough to force your moral bar to the top, so you enter into beast mode and continue your attack frenzy on the monster. This takes it to just under half life, and you’re out of The Hanged Man spell. You…

You don’t have much choice in the matter; you have to heal or risk being killed by another slip up. Running as far away from the monster as you can, you open your menu and select a potion from it to use. As you’re in the process of using that, the monster comes down with an attack that sends out a powerful shockwave; just clipping you. A split second before your potion takes effect you’re health falls to zero and your display screen blanks.

It would be foolish to pause for even the briefest of seconds, so you ignore your health and just keep attacking, pulling out all the stops. You cast crippling spells and attacks from items in your inventory and use Rengeki freely, not caring about the SP cost. Twice you get your moral meter to full and unleash a powerful beast awakening with it, cut heavily into the monster’s HP until finally, one attack short of death on your part, it falls. With it’s defeat you do indeed get a highly rare weapon that works wonderfully since it falls into your job class. It even has a special effect that can paralyze on it. Content with the weapon, and deciding you don’t want to risk loosing it by dieing in an unnecessary battle, you head back to town.

Go to number 54 to return to town from the field.

Choosing to go with attack spells, you cast from your known spell list; figuring it is best to leave the faster spells for the boss. Not only that, you know some pretty strong spells, and ultimately you just continually cast about five in a row and catch both monsters at a time, doing some major damage to them. Once they’re wounded, you rush in to finish them off. Unfortunately, the treasure chest holds a piece of armor that your job class can’t use, and though you don’t mind to have it for trade or for selling, you had been hoping for something that you could use. Ah well.

Go to number 45 to now fight the boss monster.

You attempt to attack with physical attacks at first, but come to realize that to win this fight, you need to be able to damage both monsters at once, or you won’t stand a chance. If it wasn’t for the Gaze Knight’s armor, you may have been alright with physical attacks alone, but that isn’t the case.

Go to number 43 to use Spells.
