His eyes opened suddenly. He could sense the sun beginning to make it's descent, and the heartbeats of humans were pulsing in his mind. He hungered. Oh, how he hungered! But he had to be patient. The Young ones may try to Feed on them while they were still awake, but Vladmir knew better. The awake can resist. The Young ones will want to get their share first. That much is more than obvious. But they did not know the frenzied strength of one who hasn't Fed in centuries...

Finally, night had fallen. He lifted the lid gingerly, as if not believing he could really do so. "At last! I live once more! Now, to Feed..." He moved quickly and quietly through the shadows and crept along the ceiling, hunting, searching. Then he spied a mortal girl below him. Now, just to wait for the right moment... Wait! He could sense a Young one coming for this one! He had to act quickly if he wished to claim this meal! He sensed the Young one wanted this one as a mate, but he didn't care! It had been several hundred years since his last meal, and he would not be denied one any longer!
