okay now... come on guys... one of you has to be the bigger person and just ignore the other...

honestly, in an online setting, age doesn't really count for much... I've gotten into some scrapes in MMO's with little kids before...

if this can't be settled, maybe this just needs locked for the time being... otherwise, lets just play nice and either take up the convo about how completely awesome anime is, or just let this die... either way....

-----------

anywho...

@ ihungryboi, since you've seen so much anime, though you've said you really don't have any favorites, do you have any that you recommend? Or is there one that you'd particularly rate higher than others?

@ Mushi Fuki, I saw that FMA was on your list in your orig post... I actually just finished the series a bit ago... looking for the movie now... It was really good but I was disappointed at the ending... very frustrating... hopefully the movie fixes some of that. What did you think about the ending?

Hmm... my top 5... well, excluding Miyazaki movies I'd have to go with...

* Death Note
* Night Head Genesis
* Bleach
* Full Metal Alchemist
* Juuni Kokuki

I'm currently watching Darker than Black...

I'm in the process of consuming as much anime as possible to make up for lost time... haven't seen much in comparison to most ya'll, so I'm always up for recs...

Watch Hunter X Hunter then..........
It is only in english subtile.
I Think it is pretty good series
Hunter X Hunter is an addictive and captivating action/adventure series that the anime community at large has mostly overlooked. It features an interesting duo of two 12-and-under boys, Gon and Killua.

Gon, who has never known his father, attempts to qualify in the "Hunter Exams", a rigorous test to qualify to become part of the elite group of "hunters" in their fictional world. His father was a legendary hunter and he hopes to find his father once he gains the privilege of becoming one himself. Gon encounters Killua in the first exam. He comes from a well-known family that specializes in assassination. Naturally Killua was trained to become an assassin and has unnatural talents pertaining to such.

Next to them are Leorio and Kurapica, two others with unique backgrounds. This sparks the beginning of the story, where the plot really picks up. The few episodes before that may seem slow, turning off a few viewers early.

However, the story quickens and the plot thickens as we delve into Gon and Killua's fictional, multifaceted world. One of the most wonderful things about HxH is the light and dark side of the story, so to speak. A new viewer might be fooled by the young protagonist and early innocence of the series, but it matures and morphs into something much more sinister. Dangerous characters like Hisoka who know nothing but the joy of killing appear, and a not-so-kind world greets Gon and Killua. It's fascinating because the plot is highly unpredictable and original. Pairing those two traits the series hooks viewers to the screen, where they simply can't stop watching. When you're glued to the screen like that, with bated breath over the next turn of events, you know it has a good story and well-paced plot.

But the story can't stand up without the characters! HxH sports a likeable and original cast, even the evil ones! Everyone develops a strength, weakness, quirk, background, and motivation throughout the show. It's fun just to watch their interactions and relationships grow and change because you become so attached to them.

But, where I really want to praise Hunter X Hunter is the action scenes. There are no drawn out fights common in certain shonen anime. No fight scene just for the sake of a fight. Each battle and confrontation is woven intricately into the sophisticated plot and carrying a psychological punch for each physical one. There is also an absence of super overpowered characters, or lose-then-become-10-times-stronger fights. There is the Nen system that is both original and logical. Characters use true strategy as opposed to just throwing the opponent into the nearest body of water and/or cliff. A shonen series that lacks those common action faults is something that shouldn't be missed!

The animation is reasonably good, although you could tell easily that is it not quite up to par with the more modern anime. The simple answer is that it was made in 1999-2003, and therefore will look a bit shabby. The music is wonderfully composed, matching the mood and scene. Voice acting is top-notch, no complaints there!

Overall, Hunter X Hunter is a show to rival to the hugely popular show Naruto in my opinion, but simply not discovered by many. Many action/adventure animes out there can’t compare to the quality of story and characters of Hunter X Hunter. More of a recent vintage, it deserves more attention from the anime community because it is truly one of those rare shows that are non-repetetive and original. So please, give it some love.

i'm gonna let this thread stay alive, but frankly do we need more than one thread on what your favorite animes are? Pay attention to other threads so we don't have duplicates.

here i am repsonding.. keep your gold... if the guild needs funds we'll start a thread for that...

What you're doing here is forcing a "win" for you by saying " don't post and i'll do this". It's both annoying and asinine. Fact of the matter is, you started moving away from the topic at hand, and started attacking me, and moved the argument away from where it was supposed to be. You didn't offer up any proof of your claim. You're trying to seem E-Cool by making ridiculous claims. The fact of the matter is what you're claiming is impossible, i'm not the only one who thinks so. All you needed to say was "yeah it's not 500 but it seems like that much" or "maybe not that many but a lot" or "i was kidding..."

you're lucky you really haven't broken the rules... but learn to respect the mods of this guild... if they call you out on something, come straight with it...

I've run boards with hundreds of thousands of users and I know an e-lie when i see one... and you just need to come clean with it and it's done... but if you're going to keep prodding me with s**t like that, then i'm done with you and i'll bring banning you to the other mods in the guild.

Hunter X Hunter, huh... **scribbles**

I'll set that to watch after I finish Darker than BLACK... thanks biggrin

I mostly only watch eng sub... I try to avoid any dubbed anime like its the plague... the only exceptions so far are the Miyazaki movies... they're dubbed pretty decently...

And I don't worry too much about the animation quality when it comes to older shows... I still remember some of the old 80's animes... compared to now, the animation sucks... but they're still great shows. 10/20 years from now, the animation quality of stuff like Death Note and NHG will prolly seem completely outdated...

course, we'll prolly be all CG by then... hand drawn animation cells will be a thing of the past... **weeps** crying

Weee... yay... the other is mostly just a listy type thing... not a lot of discussing type conversational stuff going on... this strikes me more of a open topic anime free-for-all... :p But yay.... thankies for the staying of openess since we actually got some convo going, kinda sorta...

Ooooooo.... neato... I likey the eyes... all red ....

um... Is that a spider... dude... it's like a beetle and a spider and a centipede all mated for that thing... sweet...

The one I just finished, Night Head Genesis... it was kinda neat... if you're into psychological stories, or superhuman abilities like telekenesis, telepathy, ect... you'd enjoy it. I'm not sure how popular it is, its fairly recent airing about a year ago... but I just stumbled onto it by accident... happened to be in a playlist with FMA while I was watching eps of that... Darker than BLACK was a rec that I got from NHG, its very new... I think it just finished up airing back in Sept...

I'm more into the "mess with your head" type stuff like Death Note...
