Fresnel Battlefield Reaper exploding-waffles Fresnel Stoic Socialist exploding-waffles but that works under the assumption that there will be firearms to find. guns WILL be the first things to be looted/bought in a class 3 or 4 outbreak (were all gonna die type) so getting one will be much, much harder than finding a fire extinguisher. flames also do not require a headshot to be lethal, can stay burning for a few seconds, and have a large area of fire. again flamethrowers were never meant to be used nearby important structures or buildings, what they should be used for dispatching is extremely large, fairly closely grouped zombies in unimportant areas when ammo, guns, or trained soldiers are scarce. Well, I guess I'd just like something usefull, and able to be used to take game... and be used anywhere I want. The only use I really see for a flamethrower is if the zombie requires full immolation in order to stop it from harming you. Otherwise, the cons outweigh the pros. let us not forget that some headshots will not destroy the brain, while fire is garunteed to. What guarantee? Fire has to burn through eerything else first, then the skin, and skull... If it reaches that point, it has to be fueled. Then maybe reach the brain. neutral
Also, with the whole 'super soaker' s**t, what are you going to use for fuel?
Gas, petrol, carosine and I'm sure many other resources will be taken by looters, or people trying to flee from the horde. And things like WD40 would be hard to find and eve more dangerous to extract liquid from gonk Paint thinner, methanol, everclear... they'll all do fine.
Super Soaker flamethrowers only create something close two-foot blast. Meaning, it can barely set something on fire, and if you're in range you're pretty much already dead. Or so I see from experience... maybe I'm wrong.

That, and you'd end up looking like whatsisface from No Country for Old Men.

OberFeldwebel Wiggie shadowmancer101 If you want the power of a flame thrower but not the wieght and whatnot, molotoves are easy to make and quite useful if you lack incidneary grenades. but it still wouldn't kill them it would just make the air smell like you're cooking with liquor and then you get all hungry and stuff like in "Andys lost tape" video on youtube it just makes u ******** hungry and it then smells like beef jerky or something I believe his exact line was, "Smells like Jimmy Dean." ya it was freaking funny but its still true, it smells like breakfast! delicious delicious I'm normal!!!

exploding-waffles Battlefield Reaper WARNING: DO NOT, under any circumstances, use fire on a member of the undead horde. While having a zombie chase you, trying to devour your head, the only worse thing is...
When a zombie DOESN'T DIE, IS ON FIRE, AND IS TRYING TO DEVOUR YOUR HEAD. Neither Shock, nor awe effects zombies. Trauma is laughable to a horde. Setting them on fire will kill them...EVENTUALLY (possibly 30- 60 mins) Their skin and blood no longer matters. UNTIL the fire reaches either their muscles enough to disable all of their limbs, reaches the brain, or spine, THEY WILL NOT DIE.
That is all...have a nice day biggrin right, but i dont see how a burning zombie is more dangerous than a normal one, as if your infected at all your pretty much dead. also do you really think it would take 30 minutes to affect a zombie to the point of incapacitating it? also, zombies are slow, why not simply ignite a zombie, flee, and wait? burn zombies, find next group, ignite until there are no more zombies, wait 30 minutes/clean up the last batch with guns.
Well the disadvantage is, the scenario of being surrounded.
If you're surrounded by, let's say, forty zombies converging upon you and your group on all sides, and all you guys have are modified supersoaker flamethrowers, sure, you can try setting those zombies on fire. But you yourself are gonna be guaranteed a pretty toasty doom as well.
Now if you're just surrounded by five zombies converging on you from all sides, and you have the same weapon, and you set them on fire, you're still going to be creating a wall of flaming zombies from which you will STILL be guaranteed a pretty toasty doom. But if you have a sidearm in this scenario, instead of using a flamethrower, you can easily take out one or two of them on one side and run for that opening.
