"Well, yeah," Helena said. She smiled and closed her eyes. "But that's not really what I meant." She opened her eyes to see what Sogue's reaction would be.

"Oh, never mind," Helena said. She put her hands behind her head and sighed. "So, where should we go first today? You know this place better than I do."

"I'm not sure. It's been a long time since i've been in Kine. We'll have to travel slowly and with a lot of stealth, since any indication of our inhumanity will raise an alarm. But, we can head to the Bazaar, that's where most things are sold."

Helena shrugged. "Alright," she said. She hopped up and went to the bathroom. Her dress was still where she'd hung it up the night before to dry. It was stiff with rainwater, but at least it wasn't wet. Helena shut the bathroom door and got dressed. She brushed out her hair and observed herself in the mirror. She had never truely realized how pale she was and how strange her dark red hair looked against her alabaster shoulders. She left the bathroom and laid the nightgown on the bed. Then, she sat down on the edge of the bed to put her boots on. "I'm ready," she told Sogue.

Helena raised her eyebrows, then followed Sogue. "Okay," she said. "But why?" Wouldn't hiding their faces just bring about more suspicion?

"So they don't see our faces. You'd be better off, seeing as you have green eyes, but if i'm not carfull i could stick out like a sore thumb. I know how to blend, believe me, but I can only do so for so long. It would just be safer if we bought cloaks."

"Sounds good," Helena said. She caught up with Sogue and walked at his side. She reached out for his hand. "We may as well look like a couple," she muttered. "Wait, don't any humans have blue eyes?" she asked.

"Of course...but a Vampire's eyes are different. Bluer." Sogue welcomed Helena's hand with no protest, they walked downstairs, Deebles was still asleep.

"We run. We can kill if it's a small disturbance, but generally there would be too many of them to make killing them economic. They'd overwhelm us...who knows, the townspeople might even try to tackle us into submission."

"Psh, we could take 'em," Helena said, grinning. "We outran those Gorgons, remember?" She squeezed Sogue's hand in joy. "I'm not too worried about them, but I know we have to be careful. What are we going to do for food?"
