I spend a lot of time on online games, so I actually speak fluent 1337. I never speak in it, except on the rare occasion that I'm begging someone for something, in which I'll break out a "pl0x" or two, or maybe if someone's slaughtering me, in which case I'll break out a "WTF YOU H4X0R3D ME!?!"
But that's just me. I can speak 1337, but "txt talk" is the one thing I can't speak in.

The only times I ever use leet-speek, or 1337-sp33k, as it's known, is to increas the humor of a joke that is at the expence of noobs, and overall assholes.

mdarkcecil jeremyf 1337 5p34k 15 /3ry b4d //3 5h0|_||_d n0t T4|_K 1n 1t Rough translation: leet speak is very bad you(?) should not talk in it Also, it's pretty impressive that they figured this laguage out, but it's just so hard to read!It gets easier the more you are exposed to it. Sometimes I use 1337 when I'm talking with my friends about something private that we don't really want anyone else to know about. Occasionally there will be someone who understands, but we hardly ever find someone who understands enough. I use hard leet, which is just numbers and symbols. No letters. If you're gonna use leet, go all the way. cool

Actually, sadly, I remember that at one point, I really wanted to use '1337 2934k' all the time, because I had, more or less, figured out how to use it. A direct passage from me on an old chatterbox forum, and this was probably one of my first few posts:
0m6! 20 1 w42 r34d1n6 th12 0n3 800k, 4nd 1 l00k3d 47 my w47ch 4nd 17 241d 12:12:12. 2w337, r16h7?
Which I found painful to read later on. Especially on my eyes.

Due to this thread I find myself learning how to read 1337 speak, which makes me feel smarter because I can translate the stupid coding, but I still don't like it.
