My mate could be considered a furry for the simple fact that she is one, but doesn't fully realize it. I, myself, am not that active in the fandom because I don't have the time to be, nor do I have any friends, much less furry friends. As a result, the fandom takes a backseat to all of the things going on in my life, so I don't even have that much time to devote to exploring the furry fandom myself, much less getting my mate in on the whole thing.
She, however, simply does not realize she is a furry, but very much is one. She could be another great, up and coming furry artist at this rate. She is a brilliant artist.

My boyfriend is NOT a furry; however, he does know about my furriness and is totally cool with it. In fact, he calls me his bunny very often and has shown interest in the furry fandom as well.
So I might be bringing in a new recruit one of these days! smile

I guess I can say my boyfriend is a furry he likes to think as him self as a Coyote...I told him I was a Bunny Furry and he finds it neat...but I think he say I should be either a Fox or a Minx because I slightly lean twords thoese anmial more than I do A bUNNY

Mine is not a furry. He doesn't associate with the community at all either.
I don't find it a barrier at all, and I don't think it should be. Just don't let the furry thing be the only thing you ever talk about with him, it shouldn't be a problem.

My husband was a 'catboy' when I first met him, although I think he was really a furry at heart. He's now certainly full furry, but he isn't interested in Gaia, so he doesn't come on here.

Yup my mate is a Tigon (tiger dragon) hes a furry XD and proud of it =B i actuly me him from FurryUtopia guild on gaia about a year and half ago =3

My hubby is not a furry and Kind shys away from it. he even one time made fun of me kinda for it. But i told him that, that is what I am and there is how it is going to be. and for coarse he smiled and said ok hunny bunny and we both giggled at it. he still kind shys away from it But he has eased up abit about it. hope this helps ya.

My hand IS furry. It's like that anime Midori Days, where the guy's hand turns into a girl who has a crush on him, but my hand is a furry rather than a girl.
I could think of some really dirty things you could do with a hand that's a woman.
